Do fuck off here

The Olympics should sever its ties with Coca-Cola as it is using the Games as a “gold medal opportunity to sportswash unhealthy products”, public health experts have said.

experts from Vital Strategies, the international public health organisation, have written in a BMJ journal.

The tell here?

The pair warned that “by continuing its association with Coca-Cola, the Olympic movement risks being complicit in intensifying a global epidemic of poor nutrition, environmental degradation and climate change”.

Just the usual idiot fashionable whining.

  1. I seem to remember a similar fuss in Oz.

Some companies were terrorised into stopping their sports sponsorship. The next thing we heard was all the weeping and wailing about the sports running out of money.

  2. Given this year’s Olympics is synonymous with allowing men to beat up women, I wouldn’t have thought Coca-Cola would be overly concerned.

  3. Next year: calls to stop using ‘butter up’, ‘cream of the cream’ and ‘icing on the cake’ in everyday language as they remind people of food they like. And can lead to climate change and environmental degradation.

  4. I am hoping the next Olympics will be sponsored by Greggs.
Alternatively, by major drug companies, then watch records fall.

  5. Haven’t there been studies that have shown that when canned/bottled drinks enter a market, deaths from water-borne diseases plummets.

  6. Sure, Coke is an unhealthy product, but it can be made much better by adding equal parts rum and a dash of lime

    Cuba Libre!

  7. Do fuck off here
No. No. Encourage them. Losing Coke sponsorship could be the final straw. That & the countries now saying they don’t want to host the 4 yearly jambouree of quasi amateurs & cheats because it’s a bankrupting experience.
