In the first six months of this year, Musk posted false or misleading claims about the Democrats “importing voters” to influence the outcome of US elections on 42 occasions, receiving 747 million views, according to the Centre for Countering Digital Hate.
Studies by independent fact-checking sites such as PolitiFact have determined that Musk’s claims are false.
If you’re not allowed to make wild claims – say, that inequality is increasing (it ain’t, it’s decreasing) – then it’s not politics, is it?
“Fact checking sites” like that’s gonna be convincing.
It’s like “scientists say” or “according to Murphy”.
Or the BBC’s Department of Fiction.
claims about the Democrats “importing voters” to influence the outcome of US elections
The Dems are expecting the 10 million illegals they let in to eventually vote Republican then?
I don’t know much about Musk but I’m amazed at his character defect which renders him totally unsuitable to be immensely rich. He seems to be a rational, fair, decent bloke of good morals who’s rather keen on free speech.
As opposed to false and misleading claims posted everywhere else about, say, the veracity of a certain laptop.
A woman in Cheshire has been charged by Cheshire Police with posting misleading information about the Southport attack online. Starmer’s thought police in action.
There are accounts of illegals being given voter registration forms, but if you don’t investigate voter fraud then there’s no evidence of voter fraud.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oy veh shut it down, the goyim know!
The Times is supposed to be a “right wing” paper, isn’t it?

Remember when the governor of Georgia relented and allowed forensic examination of the Dominion voting machines in his state, but then his car exploded on the highway, killing his daughter’s boyfriend and then he immediately changed his mind about allowing the examination, and then the investigating officer committed suicide about four days afterwards?
So a campaign group highlighting what they see as false or misleading claims is curtailment of free speech? Wouldn’t that mean that you’re curtailing free speech by complaining about the inequality thing?
If you’re not allowed to challenge your opponents’ wild claims then it’s not politics, is it?
So a campaign group highlighting what they see as false or misleading claims
Lie.
It’s not a “campaign group”, it’s the usual wanky left wing operatives and they aren’t “highlighting” anything, they are liars whose lies are part of a malicious coordinated effort to destroy Elon Musk’s business that started when he bought twitter.
Stop lying.
“independent fact-checking sites such as PolitiFact ”
“fact-checking”.
Hah. Hah. Hah hah hah hah!
Wait. You’re serious?
The Times is an establishment paper. Now the establishment has been captured by the far-left, expect The Times to pander to their nonsense opinions.
I imagine bbc verify sees itself as an independent fact-checking site.
“I imagine bbc verify sees itself as an independent fact-checking site.”
Sholdn’t that be BBC Vilify?
Illegals are already affecting voting in the US. Their presence has lead directly to the Democrats having half a dozen more Representatives than the should have due to Census apportionment. Those House now go to states like California and New York instead of Florida and Texas.
Virginia has just completed an audit of its voter rolls. It found 6303 aliens registered to vote. How many of those actually voted is unknown. It also found 79,867 dead people registered to vote. Remember, the 2020 presidential election turned on about that total amount of votes spread over several states.
The Democrats have taken to the courts to prevent similar audits in other states. They also sued to prevent citizenship questions from being on the Census. They also just disenfranchised 14 million voters by anointing their Presidential candidate.
“The Times is supposed to be a “right wing” paper, isn’t it?”
I think yesterday’s front pages demonstrated very clearly how many “right-wing” papers there are. Even the Mail was hailing the sea of Socialist Worker placards as some kind of Voice of the People.
As always you have to look for the real motivation of the left.
Misleading claims are the excuse, the reason is all those videos showing gangs of Asian wandering round with swords and machetes on open display, videos of no go areas being enforced, videos of cars driving round London with the occupants screaming death to Jews, anti semitism at pro Palestine marches and the like.
These are so powerful that they escape social media and the likes of the Sun and Express can’t ignore them and then the Times and Telegraph feel obliged to report the stories. This destroys the narrative of only whites being aggressive and racist.
Now the establishment has been captured by the far-left, expect The Times to pander to their nonsense opinions.
A journalist pal was talking about his 20 years ago. He started his career as a tea boy on a provincial weekly. Later concentrated on photo-jouralism & built up the biggest photo agency in the UK. So he knows the industry from top to bottom & has seen the changes.
The press will always produce stories that appeal to what they think they’re readers want. He talked about making a story out a non-league football match attend by two men & a dog. Because he knew that was what the paper’s readers wanted to read. But the press has changed. There are no more people like him from a council flat in Hackney learnt on the job. Pretty well all of the media has passed through university & have acquired a particular view of the world. And it’s not a view shared by people who haven’t.
There Spiked article I read a couple of days ago on the riots. To be fair to Spiked, it wasn’t taking the line most of the media have. In part it was criticising them. But it had to have this line up near the front of the article, claiming the rioters has zero support amongst the people of the UK. There’s been a fair sized section who’s feeling have stretched from gleeful to “What did you expect to happen? Now perhaps we’ll get listened to.” Maybe with some added “And if this is what it takes, so be it.” But the media don’t meet people like that. They’re certainly not going to go looking for them. Or faithfully reporting their opinions. They’re an anathema to them. It’s not how their world functions. It’s things like violence. For a lot of people, violence is part of everyday life. Living in London, it was part of mine. There was always a threat of it. And in an environment like that, you aren’t non-violent. Not if you want to survive. The best counter to violence on you personally is violence. Or at least the threat of it. There’s nobody going to be coming to your rescue. When you need the police in this minute, the police are an hour & a half away. So there’s not anything like the aversion to violence the media assign to the public. Violent solutions are seen as valid in a large part of the society.
“Violent solutions are seen as valid in a large part of the society.” The old saying ‘Violence never solved anything’ is false.
Violence solves everything. The problem with violence is that the side effects are bad.
Otto,
You overlooked the media word of moment, “expert”. If I see it in a headline or gracing the opening para, I stop reading. It has become utterly debased.
The problem with
violencenon-violence is that the side effects are bad.The violent end up owning you.

I think the Noticing has gone too far and too wide to be smothered by the authoritarian approach Our Betters are going for.
Noticed on telegram a post that says:
“The official UK government account on X just got suspended for threatening their own citizens.”
If I was Musk that is exactly what I’d do:

@ Dr K.A. Rodgers
One of the things that put me off the EU was when EU-Phare classified me as a “Senior Expert”, which implied that someone termed “Expert” wasn’t all that expert.
[It wasn’t even in my particular speciality, just as subject I was quite good at as a side-effect]
Always ask “what do *you* mean by “expert”?”
PJF: And clearly, telephone companies will have to ban people from saying hurty things, and the Royal Mail will have to ban people writing hurty things, and newspapers will have to be banned from saying hurty things, and photocopier manufacturers will have to ban people from printing hurty things.
JD Vance said that people with no children had no stake in society. Well Jesus apparently had no kids, so does he have a issue with Jesus? Not good for the Christian vote.
We are all God’s children. Jwc.
