Logically this will happen

A man has been accused of switching gender to avoid a trial for threatening his former partner in Spain.

The victim’s lawyer has described the move, which takes advantage of the country’s ultra-liberal transgender laws, as “fraudulent”.

One of the country’s specialist courts to protect women from male violence has said it now cannot try the individual – who has a previous conviction as a man for threatening his former partner – as he has since changed his legal status to female.

This is not specific to gender, err, specific laws either. You might think but, but, no one would so that! So the gap in the law doesn’t exist for practical purposes. But a useful lesson about humanity is that there’s someone out there who will try absolutely anything.

  1. The ministry said that of 6,000 gender changes this year, only 0.001 per cent had proven to be fraudulent.

So they’re all genuine except that Juan is only (pun intended) 15/16ths Juanita.

  2. I see that as the matter in question is a Labour Party debating point, the far right Telegraph (now known as the Blue Guardian) has not allowed comments.

  3. That’s the least of it: apparently the transgender woman who had been failing to recruit for the US Army (she fronted an advert), looks remarkably fat. Apparently transgender soldiers are spared having to exercise, the poor dears. So they can’t be used as soldiers either, which makes them frauds 🙁

  4. The courts could eliminate fraudulent cases by insisting that the suspect gets roughly bummed, while appropriately smiling.

  5. I gather we’ve had police here changing gender to take advantage of the better pension entitlements.
The “violence against women” legal thing here is pretty extreme. It’s on an unconditional “believe the woman” basis. I’ve got on the wrong side of it. We had a very drunk & drugged up woman started destroying the house. So I did the sensible thing & called the police. They turned up & she played the “violence against women” card. Which means I get arrested as well although she hasn’t got a mark on her & I’m bleeding profusely from a head wound from where she threw a bottle at me. So that’s two nights in the nick until court sits on Monday & 18 months of sorting it out. Ended up as neither party giving evidence & case dismissed. (inquisitorial system)
It is quite mad. Whilst I was waiting for my initial hearing there was a Yank guy in for the same thing. He was telling me about it He’d had loud argument with his wife, with her doing most of the yelling. Neighbour called the police.* Domestic disturbance so automatic “violence against women”. His wife was saying there wasn’t any violence & she didn’t want to press a complaint. But once the process has started, there’s no stopping it. I met her as I was leaving. Very pleased to see her husband after two days & worried about what the consequences would be. So yes, in the circumstances, one’s best ploy would be to change gender & get the benefit of being a woman. Wish I’d thought of it.

*Very Spanish. Spanish spend half their lives denouncing each other to the police over the trivialest of matters.

  6. From the BBC article:

But Grover believes no human being has or can change sex – which is the pillar of gender-critical ideology.

Fuck off. That is reality, not ideology.

  7. Isn’t Spain the cuntry that put the coach of the women’s football team in prison because right after they won a championship, he kissed one of the players? Didn’t stick his tongue down her throat or grope her, but a kiss on the lips during the moment when everybody is running around and celebrating wildly.

There are some who suspect that this type of legal warfare is really about unattractive women getting back at everybody.

  8. Schedule him up for The Surgery before the trial and see how long that lasts. That should be standard operating procedure for any man claiming to be a woman in legal proceedings.

  9. Rupert – not sure which advert you mean, but I found this on the United States Army’s official website:

    Living authentically saves Soldier’s life

The observance of Pride Month, celebrated every June, was first recognized by the Department of Defense in June 2012. It is a time when the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community come together to celebrate love and authenticity….

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — Coming out as a transgender female saved Maj. Rachel Jones’ life.

The U.S. Army Sustainment Command Cyber Division chief, G6 (Information Management), struggled with depression and suicidal ideation for most of her life. Today, she is living her truth and is no longer battling depression or suicidal thoughts.

Many LGBTQ+ people must overcome deep-rooted fear, shame and adversity in order to live as their most authentic self, though.

Not to be out-disgusting, here’s what the official British Army website says:

    TRANS RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS
    11 March 2023 by AL
As an equal opportunity employer the British Army welcomes and supports all individuals, regardless of their background and experience, allowing them to realise their value and encourage maximum contribution.

We support all of our Trans colleagues and firmly believe Trans Rights are Human Rights. No matter your gender, sexuality, race or religion, everyone has a place serving in the British Army.

I would like to introduce these people to the Russian army.

  10. A fat middle-aged Aussie has just been awarded damages and costs from a women’s only online group that had the temerity to reject someone who looks like Les Dawson’s Cissie Braithwaite while allegedly possessing the chromosomes of an Algerian boxer.

Australia has come a long way since Mick Dundee. That Sheila really is (legally) a Sheila after all.

    I don’t know, Steve.
An overweight, muddle aged man prancing around in a frock could be useful. Gives them something to aim at… If they can stop laughing.

  12. CD – You jest, but I wonder what would happen to all the trannies, women and gays in the armed forces if they ever attacked a country that can fight back.

My guess is, most would find a sudden new interest in pacifism and we’d all be speaking Mandarin within a week.

  13. Steve, what was it Wellington said? “I don’t know what they do to the enemy, but by God they terrify me”

  14. Richard

I believe it was also voiced by the head of NATO following his first meeting with Admiral Rachel Levine and Sam Brinton.

  15. Seriously, I’ve never heard anyone explain what “Trans rights are human rights” means. How about “Non-trans rights are human rights”? Or “We don’t know if you are Trans since we haven’t met, but you have human rights”?

In addition to Chesterton’s Fence I find that people (intentionally or not) fail the old axiom “the Devil is in the details”.

No kidding, I’d like to hear someone explain what “TRAHR” is actually about. Is it “you have to pretend you agree with everything I say and pay for my surgery”? When asked, most supporters are absolute “deer in the headlights” or they start rambling on with incomprehensible University-speak that would make for a great buzzword Bingo game. Intersectionality, sisters, now and forever!
