The Home Office is to consider banning silent prayer outside abortion clinics, The Telegraph understands.
Just to be objectionable, does this include anyone who gets out a prayer mat for one of the five a day within 150 metres of a hospital?

Note that silent prayer is to be banned, presumably because it’s so irritating. Noisy prayer, announced over speakers or megaphones is, of course, allowed…
There’s a YouTube video of some clueless plod attempting to ascertain whether a woman is praying unlawfully outside an abortion clinic or not. Literally clipboard in hand. At first I thought that it must be a fake, but it seems real enough.
Personally I would have told plod to stroll on as I was going about my lawful business, but I realise that these Christians doing this are bound by a different covenant than my agnostic ass.
I doubt our stabby newcomers would even be spoken to, never mind interrogated.
I’m beginning to think that if all plod can do is harass praying Christians and people saying hurty words on Twitter, then they might as well be done away with as much cost a lot and are delivering negative value to the council taxpayers.
Defund the police!
The Left uses State power to defeat its enemies. The Right would do well to learn from this.
There may be no better way to convert people to Christianity than this kind of shite.
I thought it was already illegal, mind you? Haven’t people been arrested for it?
When they have to produce evidence of the offence in court, how exactly are they going to do that?
@Julia – Hence the clipboard carrying plod. They are essentially reliant upon self-incrimination.
You only have to look at Murphy’s comments on the ‘Islamophobic’ nature of the recent riots to see how deep the rot goes. Between Labour,Green and the Islamic Block they could be looking at nearly 100 MPs next election. The abortioneers are in for a rough ride in about two decades but they are so stupid they can’t see it.
If it’s older Christian women, our police are brave.
If it’s Muslims, the police’s natural instinct is to kneel down and open their mouths.
John Galt: « They are essentially reliant upon self-incrimination.»
I think that’s it. The reponse to interfering plod should be along the lines of “I’m trying to visualise the shopping list that I mistakenly left at home on the kitchen table”.
Plod: “Well please could you move along and visualise somewhere else?”
Visionary: “If you keep interrupting me I’l be here all day”.
I’m an atheist. If I stand silently outside an abortion clinic along with a Christian friend, how would anybody, especially the police, know what either of us were thinking?
Abortionists, gays and believers are not natural bedfellows. They may have formed a temporary alliance but it won’t last.
Don’t worry, officer, I’m an atheist so my prayer won’t work.
Two-tier praying, eh?
Can we expect anything better from the Home Shrewcretary?
While they did arrest and charge someone I recall reading the case was kicked out, possibly on appeal though
That’s most probably why they want to change the rules.
The ECHR should throw any such law out as being against fundamental rights, but as we have repeatedly seen it’s only applies the law when it suits certain causes
We are very much into a two tier justice system
BniC – We are very much into a two tier justice system
Don’t worry, I’m sure King Charles cares deeply about his subjects, and will deliver us from our enemies.
