Deluge of abuse sent on X to prominent UK politicians in election period
If you can’t call a politician a cunt then you’ve not got free speech, do you?
They are, after all, vying to be able to spend 45% of all your money – seems pretty cuntish.

More than 8,000 messages directed at the five politicians contained the word “liar”, 3,000 “cunt”, and 2,000 “criminal”.
Seems like the public has noticed.
@Steve
It used to be said that you could tell if a politician was lying because their lips were moving.
Now it’s easier for the public to notice because the modern equivalent is the politician posting on X.
If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the Intern.
Tim
I think you’re proceeding from the premise that these people value Free speech as a concept. The riots and the response to them should disabuse anyone of that idea. Severe restrictions on speech are seen as vital to ‘protect against disinformation’. If the ‘abuse’ from X leads to it being banned a la Brazil then most of Westminster would be behind that.
I think Labour need to be more populist, even if it just gimmicks. They need to boost their support with the public, or they will fall into a hole they are not able to get out of.
How is calling a politician a cunt or a liar “misinformation”?
Philip, you forgot ‘criminal’.
Are the words counted separately, so does ‘criminal lying cunt’ count as 1 or 3? (Or, if phrases count, then more).
Andyf – you can tell an MP is lying because he’s awake.
philip – true, nobody really cares about “misinformation”, it’s spreading information that gets you in trouble in Clown World.
MPs are lying, criminal cunts. Nothing makes cunts angrier than the truth.
you can tell an MP is lying because he’s awake
I find to believe politicians don’t lie in their dreams.
What about when Nigel Farage is insulted?
‘I find *it hard* to believe politicians don’t lie in their dreams.’
That what you meant BiS??
What about when Nigel Farage is insulted?
He can suck it up like the rest of them, and he does.
I’d guess the abuse he receives is considerably more than the average politician. However, the above survey doesn’t include him because it focuses on politicians who were MPs prior to the election.
Angela Rayner and Rachel Reeves prove that simultaneously you can have a cunt and be one. Diane Abbot’s just doesn’t bear thinking about.
I never saw a Labour cunt,
I hope I never see one.
But I can tell you, right up front,
I rather see than be one.
(Apologies to Frank Gelett Burgess)
Well Timmy you are a politician but when I call you a cunt you get upset.
1) I’m not a politician
2) Upsetting politicians is the very point of calling them a cunt
3) I’ve not noted you call me anything at all
Exactly BB.
Barely articulate and obscene insults achieve nothing – water off a political duck’s back. And they do reveal more about the insulter than the insulted.
On politics:
I did find this amusing:
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/09/08/germany-far-right-afd-elections-nazi-youthquake/
As a vociferous opponent of Achtung fur Deutchland, being photographed in shirt depicting marijuana plants does rather say were you’re coming from, doesn’t it? Should think that’ll go down well with Germans of a conservative disposition
Theo – is that why Rishi Sunak hired an actor to pretend to be a Reform Party activist and call him a “paki”?
“Reeeeee! He called me a paki! You’d better vote Conservative now, bigots.” – Rishi Sunak
It didn’t work very well, did it? 🙂
Come to think of it, people are being huckled into prison for emojis, but the police have no interest in prosecuting the actor Rishi Sunak hired to call him a paki. Funny that, intit.
Oh well, Timmy, I have called you lots of things on this site. If you can’t recall them I may repeat in the future. I think you are a politician albeit a failed one.
BiS – all of the potheads and drug addicts I know are very right wing.
But then, the kind of idiot who advertises his drug habits via a shirt isn’t likely to win The Krypton Factor anytime soon.
I’m old enough to remember when the progressive left had control of the then Twitter and if you complained about their policies you were reminded that it was a private company and if you didn’t like it you could always fvck off.
As always, they never consider what happens when their political opponents have control over whatever tool or law they are using to enforce their world view.
Anyway, if you go on X all you have to do is avoid the “For You” section, be careful who you follow and make good use of the block button and it can be a very useful resource to find out what’s really going on..
Steve
Rishi Sunak hired an actor to pretend to be a Reform Party activist and call him a “paki”
*Eye roll* Your pet conspiracy theory is evidence-free. The “actor” was apparently “a Reform activist” – possibly paid by C4. Nothing to do with the Tories. And, given the racial insults you have hurled at Sunak and Badenoch, his being “a Reform activist” doesn’t seem that unlikely…though Farage is not a racist.
Theo – *Stockholm syndrome nonsense*
So you’re saying a big paki did it, and ran away?
That’s about as convincing as anything else that comes out of the Con Party, I suppose.
Steve
What, great master of the non sequitur, are you on about? Andrew Parker (whoever he is) is not “a big Paki” but apparently a Reform activist, possibly paid by C4. Any evidence to the contrary gratefully received…
@ Steve
Are you claiming that a Reform Party activist took money from someone to call Rishi a “Paki”? Were you hoping that it would produce an explosive reaction from a Hindu? If so you were sure to be disappointed – Rishi went to the most intellectual of public schools and was taught how to handle scum.
Anyone who wants to be a politician thinks that they should get to micromanage our lives and tell us what to do along with squander our hard earned on whatever insane idea takes their fancy. Ergo, they deserve all the opprobrium thrown at them.
john77
It was a put up job to enrage and disgust ordinary members of the public and people who watch Channel 4 News. It failed on the former and I am not sure that there are many in the latter category.
john77 – No, I’m saying the Conservatives hired an actor to pose as a Reform activist and call Rishi a “paki”.
It’s very obvious they did it, from the pre-recorded reaction from Rishi and total lack of police interest in investigating the matter.
That’s the Tories for you, useless even when they’re doing a gayop.
More than 8,000 messages directed at the five politicians contained the word “liar”, 3,000 “cunt”, and 2,000 “criminal”.
Wait.
Has the meaning of abuse changed?
Leaving out the ones with cnut in them, that’s 5000 minimum that have liar or criminal in. Even if we’re feeling generous and discount the “criminal” ones as well.
That’s 3000.
Since when is saying someone is a liar considered abuse?
Slander? Possibly. Not polite? Probably. But abuse?
Really?
Are our politicos really that thin skinned?
“Or they (Liebor) will fall into a hole they are not able to get out of”
And this is a problem why, exactly?
CD – Are our politicos really that thin skinned?
Surprisingly, yes.
They may be legislatively destroying your livelihood, your pension, and the future existence of the nation and civilisation you belong to, but they are also exceedingly petty malignant narcissists.
These people didn’t get into politics to serve you. They got into it so they could see the look on your face when they announce the beginning of the Hunger Games.
What do you think attracted Rishi Sunak into taking a massive pay cut to be our unwanted and illegitimately installed Prime Minister?
OT – the gay cruise liner MV Europa continues foundering against the Petrine rocks of reality:
Germany will bring in controls on all its land borders to deal with the ‘continuing burden’ of migration and ‘Islamist terrorism’, the country’s interior minister has told the EU
Nancy Faeser of the struggling Social Democrat party (SPD) has finally accepted that Germany has no choice but to enforce proper border controls if it has any hope of coping with the staggering amount of unauthorised entries.
So much for Schengen. Auf Wiedersehen, hinny!
Somebody tell Frank, the Talking Pope, that the game’s over. When Germany, the world’s capital of masochism, has had enough…
Everyone complains about the weather, but nothing is done………..much the same applies to politicians.
Whoever you vote for, a politician gets in.
Re: German sending back illegals
The Austrians have said that they’re not taling them back.
Look for camps stuck on the borders of CR, Poland, Austria etc.
Lol
I haven’t read the detail yet but I heard on the German radio news this morning that they’re going to start border controls from next Monday. That should be fun as you can just walk a few Km and cross on a small track, far easier than crossing the channel.

Schengen is simply an acknowledgement of the fact that land (or even river) borders are inherently highly porous – unless you’re prepared to go to Israeli or DDR lengths to close them. At the height of the ‘Troubles’, the UK couldn’t effectively close a few hundred miles of border with Eire, even with half the (then much larger) British Army stationed there.
Germany has been monitoring the border with Austria for years. 8 years ago we had Xmas in Garmisch, and when our train home arrived from Innsbruck, it was greeted by the Polizei who took a dusky-skinned couple off the train and whisked them away. French border police have checked the trains arriving from Italy for the last few years.
