How excellent!

But it’s worse than that. Labour believes this stuff. Free marketeers may have won the battle in the Seventies and Eighties. But it has to be refought every generation, for capitalism runs up against prejudices embedded deep in our DNA.

Permanent employment for Dan, me, and all those who follow….

  1. I seem to recall that some wealth management company was claiming there would be 9,500 of the wealthiest expatriating to places like Dubai, Singapore and (surprisingly) Portugal this year.

Hardly surprising as what idiot stays around to get fleeced by the Commies when there are places with better weather and lower taxes they can go to.

But the Commies like Ritchie always reject the argument that taxpayers have behavioural responses to being taxed excessively. When the tax collected drops like a stone wait for them to try taxing foreigners living abroad whilst simultaneously bitching about those who have left as “traitors” or similar language of envy.

    Then again, Commies never change.

I love the irony of this:

Britain’s richest plumber Charlie Mullins has put his £12m London penthouse up for sale as he prepares to flee the UK to avoid a Labour tax raid.

The Pimlico Plumbers founder, who bought the luxury flat with his windfall from the £145m sale of his business in 2021, said he is ready to have “no assets in the UK whatsoever”.

He’s the guy who put up the huge Bollocks to Brexit sign and now he’s got a pro EU PM who is going to move us ever closer to the EU he’s fvcking off.

Does he think there wouldn’t have been a wealth tax if we’d stayed in the EU?

  3. @BiND

It’s not really ironic. He was against Brexit because it interfered with his ability to undercut local workers by importing plumbers from Poland and Hungary.

He didn’t say that, of course, because he’s a lying cunt.

  4. He was also an enthusiastic supporter of the state forcing vaccine mandates on everyone. So the sooner that cunt fucks off the better.

  5. When TTK and La Reeves see their plans undermined by the laughter curve they will be very cross indeed and in the best traditions of authoritarianism they will blame the disobedient population rather than their own pig-headed stupidity.

For every Mullins that leaves, 50,000 willing replacements are earmarked to come the other way. The Calais Evening Argusse is advertising luxury flats in Farnborough with flat screen satellite TV. Early booking recommended.

  6. Depending on what TTK and his mental commies come up with I might be joining the exodus. Have to see how bad it is.

I expect it’s going to be bad. Not just in terms of the total amount the thieving scum grab from people but it will be the worst kinds of taxes.

  7. …capitalism runs up against prejudices embedded deep in our DNA.

Where’s the evidence that socialism is “deep in our DNA”? There isn’t any. And free markets and capitalism seem to be more in tune with human nature than socialism is in so far as uncoerced people prefer to live under the former than the latter.

Meanwhile, people using spurious DNA metaphors should take a quantum leap…

  8. BiG:

“Free marketeers won the battle in the seventies?”

Of course! After all, they didn’t nationalize the *whole* economy, so the free marketeers won.

  9. TMB: If – as according to the article – the taxgathers in Tenby intended the second home tax to *raise* *money*, then yes they were completely up their own arresses. The whole point of a second home tax is to make second home owners sell up, *NOT* to raise money.

  10. jgh – well sadly second home owners are trying to sell up en masse but according to the article these 2nd homes are unaffordable for local folk so one of two outcomes is likely:
    1) That new incomers with more loot than the outgoing ones want to buy 2nd homes in Tenby (rather than Dubai!) and can afford the 250% council tax uplift or
    2) That the housing market in Tenby crashes and the unaffordable houses become more affordable. Of course that will also entail a fall in the value of the houses that locals currently can afford. How do you say “#~&% the council” in Welsh?

Anyone thinking of downsizing and prepared to take the risk of moving to Wales might want to consider Tenby but should first seek psychiatric help and an umbrella.

  11. BiW

He was also an enthusiastic supporter of the state forcing vaccine mandates on everyone. So the sooner that cunt fucks off the better.

Many otherwise sensible people regrettably supported vaccine mandates – and others regrettably voted Remain. However, like lefties who despise wealth creators, you want “the cunt” to ‘fuck off’ from the UK. Your intolerance is crass, because we need to convert the large number of such people, not encourage them to leave.

  12. Which is your problem, BiW! Everyone who seriously disagrees with you is a “cunt”, and this anger makes you respond irrationally. So instead of advocating a tactical and rational vote – ie voting so as to maximise the right-of-centre vote – you advocated voting to let in the most left-wing government since 1945….face/palm.

  13. No, I (and millions of others, not to mention the millions more that stayed at home) voted rationally to get rid of the party of useless cunts blocking a genuinely right wing party taking its place.

Reform didn’t cause the collapse in tory support, the tories did that all on their own.

  14. We voted the Tories out Theo. Labour getting in was the unfortunate and regrettable result of that, which is why Labour support is a mile wide and an inch deep.

Come 2029 (or sooner, hopefully), Labour will get the same treatment.

Quite who will get elected at that point is an unknown. Unlikely to be the Tories, but might be some Tory / Reform combination.

This is the only way to move the uniparty argument on, by refusing to support their current line of bullshit.

  15. @Theo
Where’s the evidence that socialism is “deep in our DNA”? There isn’t any.
Socialism is the family structure. From each according to their capabilities, to each according to their needs. And it is very likely hard wired into the DNA. As is kill anyone who isn’t family. It’s an evolutionary advantage. The wider “society” & market capitalism is contrary to a million years of evolution.

  16. Socialism is a simulacrum of altruism enforced by a remote authority and this is not at all how family structures work. Individuals naturally resist socialism unless it is in their (and their family’s) interest not to do so.

Theo is right and I don’t believe that BiS paid tax to his dad.

  17. Jees, that Pembrokeshire council is full of socialist eejits.
In a perfect world (not gonna happen) second home owners would get some local representation for their taxation but they don’t so this is what the council came up with
    https://www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/council-tax-discounts/second-homes
So, the strategy is to list for sale at 15% above realistic (who decides if that’s ‘reasonable’ isn’t clear, but all the other 2nd home owners are gonna list at higher than market) and then after a year offer it to rent at say 15% above market, and rinse and repeat and you keep on paying council tax at the standard rate and living in the property for a small fraction of the year perhaps which is what you did already.

  18. The main failure of socialism is the delusion that it is possible and desirable to run the entire planet like a single big happy family.

  19. That’s exactly the point I made. The altruism of the family model is what’s likely hard wired into the DNA. It’s the optimum way to perpetuate the genetic inheritance down the generations. One can even posit a mechanism for it that pre-dates rationality. People with similar genetics will produce similar pheromones. In other words people who smell like you carry the same genes as you. Which explains why the altrurism is expressed up the generations as well as down. Humans look after their old as well as their young because they smell the same. Don’t ever neglect the importance of the sense of smell. The olfactory organs are actually extensions of the brain & wired directly into it at a basic level. You must have had that experience when simply smelling something will initiate a cascade of memory relating to something you’ve long forgotten about
Socialism is attempt to impose that altruism across that genetic boundary. And you can see why it always fails. It’s that other genetic imperative. ‘Kill people who don’t smell like me.’* People will always try to game the system to their benefit even if it’s to the detriment of others. Even just the detriment of others is a sufficient incentive.**
Society & particularly market capitalism is something we’ve invented that suppresses this instinct because of the benefits they provide. But that always a concious decision. It goes against what’s hard wired in. Why people tend to default to the instinctive.

*It also neatly explains why people in large communities like cities behave differently from in small communities. It’s the stress of constantly being challenged & threatened by the smell of “others”. And the more other they smell, the more the challenge. And why people behave atypically when forced into close communities of “others”. Military conscription for instance. See where racism comes from?

**No doubt why socialists find such glee in imposing their beliefs on you. Spud does actually mean you harm.

  20. You must have had that experience when simply smelling something will initiate a cascade of memory relating to something you’ve long forgotten about

Someone should write a book about it!
