Ooooh, super! Moar Tax is good, right?

Scots face double tax rise from Labour and SNP governments in scramble to plug gaps

No doubt we’ll be told it’s the wrong sort of Moar Tax….

  1. More tax is good (at this late stage) because only the increasing theft of their money coupled with the open deterioration of the country is going to wake some people up.

Of course, not many people are net payers so the effect may not be dramatic.

  2. Us net payers are going to get pretty fed up soon enough, as despite the unable and the scroungers there are still a lot of us. Thankfully I’m not a taxpayer in Jockistan so I only have to pay for Westminster’s incompetence.

  3. Depends if you do something about it, TG. It’s scroungers are more likely to take to the streets to get what they want. One of the problems has always been with the UK. It’s run to benefit those with time on their hands

@ Tractor Gent. Whilst you may not be a taxpayer in Jockistan, your “Westminster” taxes are definitely also funding Jockistan incompetence via the Barnett… sorry Baby formula (thank you Norman)

Good. This is what they voted for. They got what they wanted.

  6. Interested @ 8.05. Had a catch up with some old work friends on Friday, two of whom (brothers) had a rabildy labour supporting Dad. They spent their childhood weekends not having happy family days out, but dishing out leaflets urging people to vote Lab.
Both union activists and staunch Labour voters for decades, but now they own their own homes (the elder brother, two in actual fact), have a good few quid in the bank and good pension provisions, all they see is Labour coming after what they and their wives have worked all their lives for. They hate Labour with a passion.

  7. Fun question for your Christmas Quiz. Which of these is hardest to explain, in terms of showing the maths part, and which is easiest:
    1. The Barnett Formula
    2. Duckworth-Lewis
    3. Comparative Advantage
    4. Elections in Ireland Republic
