And let’s not pretend that if Trump tries his policy of expelling migrants, there will not be a flood of people out of the USA, some of whom will wish to come to the UK and claim political asylum here. Not all of them will have been expelled. Some will make a claim on the basis that they have a reasonable fear that they might be persecuted if they stayed in the USA, and given all that Trump has said about his plans for his opponents, that would appear to be entirely reasonable.
If we get more than three self-aggrandising luvvies arriving I’d be amazed.
And let’s not pretend that if Trump tries his policy of expelling migrants,
Exhibit 1001 of why most people in Europe don’t understand why Trump won.
They are told and believe Trump is expelling migrants, the people on the ground know he’s expelling *illegal* migrants. Just about everything he says and does is filtered through a negativity sieve.
A classic of the genre – Trump asked scientists to look in to whether or not bleach could help in the battle against Covid 19. We were told he recommended bleach injections.
’…the people on the ground know he’s expelling *illegal* migrants.…’
And those who are migrants themselves are A-OK with that!
Lard numbers of American celebs said they would leave the US if he was elected, because he was a literal Nazi who was going to put them in actual camps.
Maybe they were lying?
When Kamala went on Oprah’s show so both of them could alert the world to the imminent fascist coup, Oprah charged her $1 million.
You might think that this would be a service she’d provide free, but maybe not.
Lard numbers 🙂
It has crossed my mind that if things get much worse here it might be worth applying for asylum in the US.
I object to the use of “migrants” Someone who moves to London from Hull or Swansea in search of work is a migrant. Someone who moves from Krapistan to London is search of state handouts and a weak legal system is an immigrant.
(As is an enterprising young Frog who comes to open a business. Or a Kraut who comes to work in the City …)
“A classic of the genre – Trump asked scientists to look in to whether or not bleach could help in the battle against Covid 19. We were told he recommended bleach injections.”
As I recall it he didn’t even mention bleach. He was thinking out loud about some way of disinfecting blood, and the media went straight to the bleach injections. We don’t hate them enough.
“claim on the basis that they have a reasonable fear”
Which just points out how shite our system is.
I have a reasonable fear that the present UK government might persecute me for my social media posts. Perhaps I should apply for asylum in Trump’s America, where my views would be constitutionally protected.

I look forward to seeing those callous murderers in the WHO who approved millions if not billions of doses of the scary “horse medicine” Ivermectin to innocent Africans being brought to justice.
What’s that? You say it’s not actually dangerous.
@Person in Pictland, You forget that the vast majority of the Bon-Pensant Progressives are also Globalists for whom things as national and even actual geographical borders are mere human figments of the imagination designed by the evil capitalist fascists to keep us separated from our rightful Unity of People… etc. ad nauseam.
To them there are only “migrants” and never immigrants, legal or illegal. Because Borders Bad.
“And STAY out!” – Hitler.
HE’S NOT PROPOSING TO EXPEL MIGRANTS, HE’S PROPOSING TO EXPEL *ILLEGAL* *IMMIGRANTS*.
Lie, lie, lie, lie, and again lie, and keep liing to beat your lies into people so hard they eventually believe it’s the truth.
Grrrr. I was so fist-mashingly angry I forgot to log on. 😛
@andyf – “The lack of trousers skews the description of what they look like.”
That menas it must be Scotsmen – no trousers and wearing nothing under the kilt.
@John – “scary “horse medicine” Ivermectin… You say it’s not actually dangerous.”
I don’t know what bizarre misinformation you have been reading, but Ivermectin is reasonably safe and widely used as a treatment for parasites. More famously, however, various crackpots promoted it without proper evidence as a treatment for Covid, for which it is ineffective.
Is he *complaining about that*?
Because he’s told us that unlimited immigration is only ever a ‘net’ positive – so he should be glad America will be leaking its best and brightest and further culturally enriching the UK and helping its economy out.
Charles,
Re Ivermectin and your rather assertive claim that it is ineffectiveness for Covid, see the full video exchange between Doctors Tess Lawrie and Andrew Hill before blindly repeating establishment and main stream doctrine. It’s excruciatingly obvious to anyone that’s not either stupid or autistic what took place there: *money* in case any steer is needed – $40 million that would be donated to Hill’s employer if he wouldn’t mind err *temporarily delaying* his and Larwie’s findings, just at the point that the “vaccines” were about to be launched for tens of billions of profit… No maths GCSE needed for that one…
Don’t worry, I have a sneaking suspicion that you were already aware of it… 😉
(And there is masses more, but anyone watching just that *knows* what’s taking place, one doesn’t need to analyse/critique detailed studies to understand it).
“A classic of the genre – Trump asked scientists to look in to whether or not bleach could help in the battle against Covid 19. We were told he recommended bleach injections.”
He was actually talking about using UV light. At the time there was at least one company that was promoting using UV to disinfect large spaces like meeting rooms and airplanes. After the meeja went off on the injecting bleach thing those video clips all suddenly disappeared from the socials.
@Charles
Claims about the effectiveness of Ivermectin for Covid were massively overblown by a small minority of zealots who genuinely thought it would be the cheap and easy solution to the pandemic, despite the weight of evidence being distinctly unimpressive. And to give Trump his due, he didn’t caught up in that frenzy and demand doctors start using it.
But I don’t understand your dismissal of the “horse medicine” thing as if you’ve never heard it before and you’re assuming anyone who has must have been exposed to some whack-job conspiracy theories on Basedtube. You are an arch-sensibilist and it’s the sensibilists who came up with that stuff – incessantly. How did you possibly not hear it? You might think it’s a very good idea that the medical and media establishment quickly closed ranks to freeze out the Ivermectin-for-Covid pushers from mainstream debate. But they went very far with their efforts to ridicule them and ended up introducing a lot of misinformation themselves. Particularly attacking Ivermectin as a drug for deworming horses and not suitable for humans – I think that was originally in response to claims that some desperate people had started using veterinary supplies of Ivermectin for their Covid due to doctors not prescribing it, but the “horse de-wormer” label has stuck, unfortunately.
Ivermectin it is of course a very important medicine, whatever you think of the evidence for its effectiveness against Covid. There’s no question that it should not have been bad-mouthed in that way – it’s effectively a new layer of misinformation that may put off people who really need Ivermectin from accepting it, since it’s one of the first things they’ll find online about it. Even in the aftermath of the 2024 election, oh-so-clever liberal voters were letting rip on social media about how could there be millions of people so deplorable and ignorant as to vote for Trump and “idiots who take horse dewormer” surprised me by its continued prevalence as a leftie trope for people with a different opinion to them. It boggles my mind that you could have got this far without having heard of it – perhaps you’re merely feigning your ignorance?
