Arundell nearly joined Bath as a teenager, when he attended Beechen Cliff School, but then joined London Irish instead when he moved to Harrow School.
So, if I ever meet him we’ll have spomething in common – we’ll both know the same Co Op. There’s a conversation starter, right?
London Irish, eh? I looked into whether I qualified for Oirish citizenship but no; it turned out that my Irish grandfather had been so careless as to be born in England.
Surely, I thought, I’ll qualify for Oz? My other grandpa was not only an Aussie but he’d been an Anzac – a status about which Aussies wax sentimental. But apparently Anzaciness doesn’t count so it’s “no” there too.
Poor show, Australia! And the bastards won’t pay me the old age pension I’m owed just because of some snivelling regulation about means testing. Buncha crims.
P.S. Mr Tim; your other posts currently appearing on my screen are historical relics.
@Mr Tim: bugger me, it’s just corrected itself. Spooky, possums!
