Snigger

By tapping two combative ultra-loyalists to run the FBI and the justice department, Donald Trump has sparked fears they will pursue the president-elect’s calls for “revenge” against his political foes and sack officials who Trump demonizes as “deep state” opponents, say ex-justice department prosecutors.

Ooooh, no, no, noooooo.

Don’t do to us what we’ve been doing to them for years now, no, noooooo.

  1. Since the bloke who choked someone on the New York subway was acquitted, I’d argue that Trump should pardon Derek Chauvin.

But it would certainly make better sense for him to forget about it.

  2. @Boganboy,
The murder charges (both for intentional and unintentional homicide) were from a state court I believe, so the Pres wouldn’t be able to pardon Chauvin for those. It would have to come from the State Governor.
He would be able to issue a pardon for the federal charges – I heard that at the time of the trial there were feds waiting in the court room to arrest him in the event that he was cleared of the state charges. I believe he was charged with some kind of federal civil rights crime later anyway while in prison, and accepted a plea deal. Talk about kicking a man while he’s down.

  3. Will there be pre-emptive presidential pardons all round or is SpongeBrain in such a sulk about being forced to stand aside that he’s only going to grant them to his family and close circle in order to protect his own ****.

  4. “… they will pursue the president-elect’s calls for “revenge” against his political foes…”

The guilty preparing their defence – we did nothing wrong, just doing our jobs, we are being victimised out of spite for political reasons.

    Nice try.

I’m sure I read somewhere that the only direct reference to retaliation made by Trump was him saying they wouldn’t be any and his way of getting even would be a successful America.

What his appointees get up to is a different matter but even then any reference to it has been that it must be within the law as it stands – which was Kash Patel who really wants to go after those involved in the initial Russia collusion scandal.
