Twattery

Tackling the “scourge of femicide” in the UK will be a central part of the government’s promise to drastically reduce violence against women and girls, the minister leading the policy has said.

How about just being against murder?

  1. Given our government’s relationship with a certain sector (if I can call him that) isn’t it important to determine the reason for the “femicide”? If it’s a hate crime then that is obviously really bad, but if it’s an honour killing, wellll,,,

  2. Aren’t 95% of homocides masclucides, so tackling homocide per say will reduce female-targetted homocides.

  3. Men were 71% of murder victims in the last year for which records are available. And there’s a femicide problem?

  4. Jess Phillips, Rachel Thieves, Bridget Phillipson, Angela Rayner, Yvette Cooper, the precious jewels in TTK’s diadem of the sex will inspire men and end misogyny.

  5. It should surprise no one that after a century of socialists being quite unable to achieve their stated numerical objectives, they now positively avoid all forms of maths 🙁

  6. I’m not an anti-abortionist but I would be interested in knowing what is the excess of female babies aborted over male babies. Just as a matter of casual interest. You might even report it by area, which would be more revealing. Does anyone dare gather the figures?

  7. TMB has it nailed – I had forgotten Philipsson in fairness but all five look like being among the least adequate holders of their offices of state in history, This from the article itself.

“We make a great team. Yvette Cooper is brilliant on detail and delivering, while I’m all heart and passion,” said Phillips.

At this rate there won’t be a satire industry in the country. Could anyone write a less realistic sentence than that one?

  8. “I can’t tell you what a woman is, I’m not a biologist.” – Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Jackson -Brown (purportedly)

Be awfully difficult to decide femicide cases then

  9. I thought that we were meant to be treating men and women equally.
So shouldn’t we be killing more women to even the stats up a bit?

  10. Good point, Agammamon

Since the deceased is no longer here, we can’t assume their gender, they are no longer here to correct us
Record them all as just ‘deceased’.
    Sides the problem
