The first woman to lead a branch of the US Armed Forces has been sacked by Donald Trump for excessively focusing on diversity policies while neglecting border security.

Adml Linda Fagan, who Joe Biden appointed to lead the US Coast Guard in 2022, was relieved of her duties by acting secretary of homeland security Benjamine Huffman.

And he’s firing every DEI position in the Federal Govt.

What, what, fun…..

  1. Obviously delighted to see the victories in the US but as with any celebration over ‘Operation Torch’ back in World War Two the struggle continues – any joy is tempered by the knowledge that despite Steve’s confidence (and I totally agree with his assessment of the commercial uselessness of DIE) the enemy is omnipresent across all sectors in the UK and they will fight tooth and nail to stay in situ. The judiciary is also captured. So it’s likely to be a very long road.

Most DIE practitioners are female and many are black or other ethnic minorities. So you have a twofold barrier against dismissal. If any are also part of the LGBT Alphabet soup brigade then that’s a triple threat. As with all other branches of law, Employment tribunals tilt well to the Left of North Korea.

The path ahead is torturous and don’t forget we have probably four more years of the worst government in human history to endure. They could codify in this crap in a way that would be difficult to unravel. The champagne is on ice but for those denizens of this blog in the US – enjoy a well earned celebration.

I think you may be too pessimistic. They won’t last four years at the rate they are going.
2TK may have had his sense surgically removed but the rest of us can smell the venality, corruption and brain dead incompetence at a distance.

  3. When seeing this person’s photo my first thought was “is that a bloke or a very butch lesbian?” It turns out that apart from the DIE stuff she was every bit as incompetent as one might suppose for a diversity hire:

  4. It occurs to me that one problem with militaries everywhere is that every member of any particular rank has the same title.

This it is that ‘Adml’ (why not Admiral? Is there something special about the Coast Guard?) Linda Fagan turns out not to be a seasoned soldier, but Linda from HR.

  5. *oof!*

The US Coast Guard is not part of the armed services.

It’s on of the *uniformed* services, but it’s a civilian *law enforcement* agency, not military.
