This is not, in fact, true

Trans people are twice as likely as US adults overall to serve in the armed forces. But we’re regularly told our careers and lives aren’t worth saving

More true would be that people in the armed forces are twice as likely to become trans. After all, trans enlistment has only been legal since 2021 and now isn’t again.

The guardian article is written by a dewillied transwoman former soldier whose first name is now Alleria which sounds like a disease in its own right. Funny ol’ world.

I saw somewhere that numbers of Trannies in the US services had been overestimated nearly fourfold.

Apparently it was claimed that there were 15,000 but in reality there are 4,000.

Even in a force of 1.5 million that sounds like a lot.

You’d think that excluding from security and military roles a demographic defined by mental illness and prone to Cluster B personality disorders, and suicidal inclinations, might be self-evidently wise.

If you come out as trans while serving in the US military would they then be on the hook for all your medical bills? If so would that not encourage more people to join purely for that reason?

Would just seem to be a problem of small numbers.

If transiness is wearing frilly knickers under your combats then welcome to 3PARA mortars, where they’re all at it (and sucking each other off is how you prove you’re a man and anyone who declines is accused of being gay).

If it’s literal trans nonsense then as I understand it you need constant hormonal therapy to keep up the absurd pretence, and you can’t really stop a firefight to inject your oestrogen (or whatever), or have it choppered (fnaar) in under fire to your FOB – not that I expect UK forces will be in too many of those for a while.

Jim:

I do wonder how serving military are medically insured in the US. I suspect the government picks up the tab there, and what’s covered is dictated by the same bureaucracy. After all, how is an insurance company going to investigate medical bills incurred in a different country that they’re at war with during a possibly secret operation?

As opposed to people outside the military, where they would be buying coverage from a company. Which may have been dictated to, but they still have to cover the bills.

Take the fucking hint then.

This includes those who have honorably served for for 19 years

There is no honour in being a eunuch.

I wish more people knew that transgender service members are not a threat.

To the enemy.

But while I was stationed in Missouri, I faced a frightening amount of transphobia

You ain’t seen nothing yet. (Let’s rock)

I suspect ( but have no evidence to prove) that the claimed number of 15,000 ‘transgender’ service members uses a very, very broad definition, and that the actual number is much lower – maybe in the hundreds. Why would it be significantly-different than the population at large? And if it were indeed so large, why is it that we always see the same two or three individuals presented as the examples of ‘transgender’ service members serving successfully?

‘Transgender’ individuals suffer (as others have noted) from a whole range of mental-health issues at rates far-higher than the general population, and have vastly-elevated suicide rates. The military already has problems with unchecked personality disorders – recall the US warship that collided with a merchant vessel in-part (at least) because the female OOD ‘wasn’t talking to’ the female officer in charge of thr CIC? In days past, a commanding officer would have put a short, sharp stop to such schoolgirl silliness – but not anymore.

When I was still working, I spent a lot of time at US military facilities. I well-recall one huge training facility, where the command had the practice of posting the details of Article 15 (non-judicial) punishments in the bathrooms. The idea being that everyone would end up having to see them, sooner or later. Article 15 punishment lies between what was taken care of by the NCOs off-the-record and formal judicial punishments.

Every single one I saw, and I saw a few, dealt with inappropriate or prohibited interactions between male and female service members. The whole military police function was permanently embroiled with stopping the troops from f**king each other. Toss a few ‘transgenders’ in there, with all of their mental-health issues, and the whole base would probably grind to a halt – pun entirely intended.

As always… What’s the incentive?

Trans people as a group do not exactly engender sentiments of conservative patriottism that makes them twice as likely to serve the nation..
From my experience… quite the contrary, really.. more inclined towards “Alternative Lifestyles”, which very much does not include the armed forces…

And you have to wonder…. how many of those “Trans” are in the Wibble category… Good way to still get a paycheck, and a pension, without all the risk of barbarians actually shooting at you..

Well, I say ‘nothing’, but I’ve got a friend in Fort Worth who can make you a fanny out of your armpit, and while you’re deciding, one of the nurses has said she can being in a few wigs and talk to you about blusher….”

Most people in the army are male.
Most trans are biologically male.
So yeah, about twice the overall pop is what youd statistically expect based on those two filter criteria.

I still dont believe it, reckon theres some motivation for claiming it.

The endless suicide baiting of these people is disgusting.

These are grown men, passive aggressively threatening to kill themselves if you don’t cater to their fetish.

People who are actually suicidal don’t write opinion pieces for the Guardian, they just go to the nearest bridge.

Remember when they were screaming that there were MILLIONS!!!! of trans people, and how DARE they be ignored. So the census actually asked people, and there turned out to be only half a dozen of them.

Tim Worstall said:
“US military does US military health care.”

And for life, worldwide. I’ve a friend who did about 3 years as a junior officer in the ‘60s and he now globetrots on a shoestring, knowing that if he has any health problems Uncle Sam will look after him.

Dunno whether that’s still the case for newer entrants.

OT: Musk was right about Farage:

Nigel Farage today ruled out allowing exiled MP Rupert Lowe back into Reform UK after he made yet another attack on the party leadership. The party leader said there was ‘no way back’ for Mr Lowe after he accused senior figures of trying to ‘silence him’ when he spoke out about grooming gangs. The Great Yarmouth MP was suspended last Friday over allegations of bullying and of verbally threatening party chairman Zia Yusuf – the latter is the subject of a police probe.

Mr Lowe denies any wrongdoing and says he is the victim of a ‘witch hunt’ after he dared to criticise Mr Farage’s leadership of the party. This morning he revealed he refused to delete a demand that the families of Asian grooming gang members be deported with them if they were ‘complicit’ in their crimes against teenage girls, from a speech he made in Essex in February. And he doubled down on his position, suggesting it was acceptable to deport ‘entire communities’ to Pakistan, saying anyone who failed to act ‘is as guilty as the rapists themselves’.

Mr Farage today accused Mr Lowe of pandering to Elon Musk, the Trump ally who suggested he lead Reform instead of Mr Farage in January. The party leader admitted he asked the then Reform MP not to talk about ‘repatriation’ and ‘mass deportations’, branding it ‘a very grave, dark and dangerous use of language.’

I love Nigel, but he seems to be still mentally living in the 90’s with his misguided sense of propriety and desire for respectability.

While he’s fretting about Lowe stating the obvious, the respectable political establishment has net zero qualms about doing insane, monstrous and extreme things to our country on a daily basis.

While the government is planning its next big push to kill old white people (phase one was when they deliberately killed all those pensioners during Covid), the political Right is worrying like an old woman about blunt language. Not good!

BTW Pakistan has no difficulty in deporting entire families. We should be more like Pakistan, Inshallah.

Re rate compared to US population, how much of that is just confounding with age?

The trans thing is much more common among young’uns. The military leans young. The more interesting stat would be the rate of trans in US military compared to general population of the same age and sex.

How do you determine the sex when the mentals don’t know themselves?

Steve. This is all about getting Reform candidates elected to seats. Anybody with opinions of Lowe is likely already a Reform voter. That produced 5 seats at the GE. Although a disproportionate amount of votes to get them. So tactically, Reform should seek to peal away votes from other parties. It wouldn’t need many to put Reform in government. But they’re not going to achieve that by moving the party to the right. They’re more likely to lose voters. Especially as a hostile media will amp it up.
Try & learn from the enemy. How did TTK get to be PM? It wasn’t by emulating Jeremy Corbyn.

BiS, the problem is not whether Reform should go for this or that strategy but that Farage is busy confirming the rumours that he can’t work with anyone who disagrees with him or has a different idea of what to do. When the aim was brexit and only that, it wasn’t a problem. But when you aspire to government you need at least a policy direction and some sort of a front bench. You have to work together. The way to do that is not to make dubious accusations about a colleague coincidentally the day after he criticizes you. It is not to call the police in.

Further, the impression is going around in reform supporter circles that Nigel has gone soft on immigration and Islam. Might as well be Starmer or Kemi if that is the case.

I’d say Farage has been doing this a long time & knows how it works. He managed to make UKIP respectable & got the referendum result. That’s pretty good going when you have entire establishment against you.
With Starmer & Kemi he has the advantage that nobody is going to believe them whatever they say. The Tories had 14 yeas, promised much, did the opposite. The opposition Labour was even further opposite on every topic. Everybody knows will happen. They’ll talk the talk but won’t walk the walk. So the main thing is not to give a hostile media anything to work with.
Farage is not going to lose Farage supporters because they have nowhere else to go.

Yeah but I’m not discussing the direction but the messs. The possibly unwarranted accusations, calling in the cops, chucking out an entire coucil’s worth of elcted councillors. It should have been kept in-house. You ought to be able to work with people with different takes on what to do.

If you meet someone obnoxious one day, he’s an arsehole. If you meet a hundred obnoxious people every day, guess who is the arsehole.
