What prison will look like for crossbow killer Kyle Clifford The serious and high-profile nature of the 26-year-old murderer’s case will make him a target behind bars for the rest of his life
Why can we not have a system where, when someone is found guilty (by a jury) of such a heinous crime, the judge has the option of offering (if he/she deems it appropriate), of offering the jury a death option, for which they must return a unanimous decision. The compulsory death sentence for murder was wrong and too restrictive, this would be the opposite, the option for those deemed beyond reform. This guy actually wanted to die anyway, he tried to off himself.

My object all sublime
I shall achieve in time —
To let the punishment fit the crime —
The punishment fit the crime;
And make each prisoner pent
Unwillingly represent
A source of innocent merriment!
Of innocent merriment!
A firing squad armed with crossbows (but unlike their target not blindfolded, for I am not a cruel man) would seem to fit the bill.
I am unable to come up with anything suitable for Mr Rudakabana. Maybe others could help?

In the film ‘Bancock Hilton’s the two women executed by machine guns have their blindfolds taken off, but a sheet is placed between them and the executioner.
Probably not conducive fir crossbows though.
Anyway that picture is probably what he is going to see as he gets bummed.

I’m a bit confused about how you kill 2 people with a crossbow. Don’t the bloody things take ages to wind up?
I can’t see why we don’t have the death penalty back for people who are not just guilty, but guilty beyond all reasonable doubt. Rudakubana for one, the Drummer Rigby killers, and the MP killers as well as this one. If we are squeamish about doing it to them, then they could be locked in a room with a pill and a glass of water, with a promise that the door would never be opened while they were alive.

Why don’t we treat Axeman Rhubarb et al. in a way that respects their culture? Just needs somebody with a sword. Job done in seconds. Very inclusive .

Crossbows in the 14th Cent indeed came with windlass handles to pull the string back. More modern versions have a lever to prime the device.

While they’re still alive.
Just think, the liver can grow back if you chop it in half. You’d only need a few Rudhakabaner s to get rid of the entire waiting list for the UK.
And then we can sell to other countries. Help with GDP.
Alas Axel Rudakubana only got 52 years!!
I’d suggest hanging them both.
