Ed Miliband has failed to make any progress on cutting household power bills, the Climate Change Committee (CCC) has warned.
The quango said in a damning new report that the Energy Secretary has not done enough to remove net zero levies from bills, which is making electricity too expensive.
This failure means the UK remains at risk of missing its 2030 clean power target, it said, as inflated energy costs deter consumers from switching to electric cars and heat pumps.
Its research found that green levies are adding £500 to heat pump running costs each year.
“The Government has made no clear progress on removing policy costs since the election,” the report said. “Making electricity cheaper remains our first recommendation.”
So folk do all the things they insist upon, which drives up electricity costs, then they complain that electricity costs have risen.
Bring back the Tyburn Tree. It’s the only language these people understand, see?
Every cloud has a silver lining. Were electricity prices to actually fall as promised the pay back time for domestic solar panels in a good location would extend from it’s current 10 years and soon reach the point they could never pay back the investment.
As Paul Homewood says, when you give £20 Billion a year in subsidies to the green blob it’s no wonder the price of energy goes up.
Cut all the subsidies and see what happens…….

High energy prices are government policy. Undeniable. Nobody is trying to make them lower.
Like in so many things, we have a two-out-of-three choice. In software, you can have it cheap, fast and good. Pick any two. In electricity, you can have any two of cheap, green and reliable. (But not all that cheap, as it turns out).
Mad Milliband has failed to do something impossible that he never wanted to do anyway. I’m shocked.

Remember Obama saying “Under my plan of a cap-and-trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket, regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad, because I’m capping greenhouse gases”.
They still elected him.
If “Green” energy was *anywhere near* as cheap as the alternative there would be no need to mandate or subsidise it because enough people (a significant minority) would choose it for moral reasons – look at the success of “Fairtrade”!

But let’s not forget that Miliminor took physics, maths and further maths (AAB) at A-level, so clearly must know enough basic science to realise that Net Zero is physically impossible nonsense. You don’t need a physics or engineering PhD to work that out – GCSE science and a calculator suffices.
