A BBC report claiming Israeli troops killed Palestinians at an aid distribution centre was based on the accounts of a single Palestinian journalist and a Hamas spokesman, it has emerged.
I mean, even Hamas might tell the truth sometimes. But as a source for the BBC? Maybe, erm, not, eh?
On the other hand, if that is how the BBC does mebbe we should just close it down?
Were the Palesitinian journalist and the Hamas spokesman the same person?
The claim that Iraq in 2003 had WMD came from one guy. And that babies were being separated from incubators in ’91 in Kuwait came from one gal. Many examples.
Pretty much nothing is believable from Palestinian sources. This isn’t a free, democratic country. You talk shit about the government, you get into trouble.
If you report anything but that Israel are cunts, your news agency doesn’t get allowed into Palestine to get some exciting content. Every news channel values hardcore footage over truth.
The whole war is a massive, massive propaganda psy op by Iran in their ongoing fight with Saudi for the hearts and minds of Arabs. It’s all about the sphere of influence.
The BBC are surprised that they are not considered neutral by Israel – https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4grldkeyv5o
Note the author is a “British” citizen which at least gets some respect still (even as it’s debased by giving them away like confetti).
But, but, but, it’s THE BBC and they would never promote falsehoods would they?
On another thread (“Oh, right”), Theo is critical of those of us who don’t believe a word these cunts say.
How much proof do you need?
I probably annoy my wife by the frequency with which I remark on the BBC’s TV reports from their ‘trusted’ sources inside Gaza. What I say is, “I haven’t seen a single malnourished face in that film, have you?”; and “Malnourished people cannot run around like that – malnourished people cannot manage that level of exertion”. Every BBC ‘trusted sources’ report is accompanied by words spoken by the BBC’s ‘senior’ ‘international’ ‘journalists’ that, at the very least, imply that starvation is widespread in Gaza – and Israel is to blame. If Gaza is starving why don’t Hamas show crowds of exhausted starving people in the reports the BBC trusts so naively?
The most emaciated person I have seen in recent BBC reporting was, in fact, the BBC’s interviewer. Incidentally, Fergal Keane and Jeremy Bowen could do with skipping a few lunches.
For the first time in ages today’s bbc news front page is bereft of tales of Israeli perfidy and atrocities in Gaza. Not even a “hamas health ministry” casualty figure or report of imminent starvation.
On that subject does anyone have any idea of how Greta’s latest rescue mission is going?
Why should I believe a word issued by either of the two terrorist entities involved in the inter-Canaanite Civil War?
Ditto the participants in the inter-Slavic Civil War?
Look, I already like Israel. You don’t need to keep selling it to me.
On that subject does anyone have any idea of how Greta’s latest rescue mission is going?
Dunno, but this is her fate if she follows through with her threats of helping to 9free Palestine “

Progressives just can’t get their heads around how much they hate westerners just for being westerners.
decnine makes a good point. Fifty-odd years ago one of my friends was Captain of Boxing: if the Bantamweight had put on two stone he would still have been skinnier than any of the kids in those pictures. If he had *actually* been malnourished he would not have been allowed in the Ring. The Light-Welter was even thinner (but less memorable).
BiND,
The problem with the “free Gaza” types is that they look at the odd Israeli cockup, or some soldier going rogue (who is prosecuted) or some settlers (nothing to do with government) and assume because they’re smaller thatthe Gazans are the good guys, the victims oppressed by Israel.
I don’t really know what’s going on, but I tend to view theocratic, anti-democratic bigots as the baddies. And I don’t understand how people can hold the thing of Thatcher Was Bad to Gays while also supporting the sort of people who torture and murder them.
Israel – Palestine is a tough issue.

I don’t believe the BBC, because the evidence shows unequivocally that the BBC is biased. So to be sceptical of the BBC is rational – and it isn’t a conspiracy theory. However, believing that Mossad (not Russia) poisoned the Skripals – and quoting Craig Murray, a deranged leftist, as an authority! – is a conspiracy theory!
Can’t you grasp the difference?
Theo @ 8.28, did I mention Mossad? No. And did I quote Craig Murray (who, he?) ? Once again no, so please stop putting words into my mouth, you’re beginning to sound like The Devils Advocate who does the same thing over at Tims’ gig at the Adam Smith Institute.
I actually linked to the UK government website: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/exercise-toxic-dagger-the-sharp-end-of-chemical-warfare .
“The three-week programme included Company-level attacks and scenarios concerning Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) vignettes, concluding with a full-scale exercise involving government and industry scientists and more than 300 military personnel”.
This took place around Salisbury at the precise time the Skripals were poisoned with a chemical agent. Strange eh?
p.s I am also reminded of the ‘exercise’ the frog airport security had a few years back. They placed some semtex or C4 in an unsuspecting passengers luggage so they could show just how good they were at finding explosives. They lost track of the suitcase.
I bet that was an interesting conversation at customs – “Did you pack this case yourself sir”?…….
