How terrible, eh? The man’s bureaucracy is to be dismantled.

“The energy secretary, Ed Miliband, warned MPs about the climate crisis on Monday, saying he would explicitly call out politicians who rejected net zero policies ”

Does he understand how this will backfire?

The Millibands always struck me as the worst sort of politicians. Whether you liked Thatcher or Neil Kinnock, their parents weren’t going to be on the Golgafrinchan B Ark. Shopkeeper, labourer, nurse. Neil Kinnock didn’t get the answer right, but he at least struck me as knowing what people cared about.

And I don’t think Ralph Miliband was a bad man. Marxist, but at least spoke out against Stalin. But you’re going to have a different idea about things if your dad is a Marxist academic rather than a labourer.

The only people who care about Net Zero are the left base. The 20% of people who will vote for a hamster if you put a red rosette on it. Most people don’t want the lifestyle destruction that would be necessary. Maybe at some point it’ll be scientifically possible. We’ll have really cheap battery storage, Bezos’ solar manufacturing in space works, whatever, but it just makes us poorer.

Ralph Miliband was a bad man. He was a Marxist. You wouldn’t say of someone: “He was a Nazi, but basically OK otherwise.”

Marius @ 8.06, ‘He’s a moslem, but basically ok otherwise’ is in a similar vein……….

Watched Lee Anderson ask Mad Milliband what difference the UK going to net zero tomorrow would make to global temperatures*.

The answer was the usual non answer we get from every member of this labour government.

*Zero, zilch, nada, in case you were wondering……….

Maybe I’m a little generous about this, but I give people more leniency to those who were earlier in the experiments. Like the 43% of Germans who voted for Hitler. When you have 43% of the vote, you’re including a bunch of maniacs, for sure, but also a lot of normal people (at least for the time). Hating Jews was pretty normal back then. Their neighbours in Poland and France discriminated against Jews too.

This “I am the Science” stuff won’t end well. Remember Dr Fauci.

That’s not a bad test for future elections; don’t vote for anyone unless they’ve been denounced by a Miliband.

‘Reform-run councils once known for green policies expected to scrap climate pledges’

Is Britain suffering from a comma shortage?

“Former Durham county council climate lead calls motion to rescind climate emergency declaration ‘reprehensible’”

It is impossible to believe that anyone believes that whatever the Durham county council does has any affect on anything. Ipso facto, this former lead is beside himself that they have CRASHED THE BANDWAGON.
