I would say that Sex offenders pose a problem when it comes to probation. Because they tend to be attacked by the other prisoners by necessity they rely on the prison officers for protection. Hence they tend to be among the better behaved prisoners which makes them eligible for better treatment and more favoured consideration at the time of parole hearings.
I am not sure GPS tracking can’t be ‘faked out’ and one can only imagine the practical limitations of this type of surveillance (as well as the cost) – however, in terms of its potential use, I would imagine the Department of Energy and Climate Change is already working out how to apply it more broadly, starting with Reform constituencies and moving on from there. Despite the defenestration of Klaus Schwab from the WEF, there’s been no let up in the propaganda machine regarding ‘Climate catastrophe’ and the measures needed to counter it. They could always be fitted with ankle tags, and given a restricted zone and curfew. Then, if they breach those terms, a small explosive charge blows their foot off. They will only breach these restrictions twice at the most. The Home Office thanked me for my suggestion, but declined, for some reason, to implement it.
Sex offenders lack hormonal drive to reoffend if they are debollocked. Noneed to keep them in prison longer than it takes testosterone to drop. Great deterrent too.

Similarly, Office can be pirated, earnings can be unreported, employees can be paid below minimum wage and so on.
The same solution would probably work in this case: “fake it if you want, but if your name comes out the hat and the polis go to those coordinates and you’re not even within yelling distance, then we throw the book at you”.
You can break the rules and you’re probably not going to get audited by HMRC, but the fact that you /might/ is enough to make most businesses not want to try.
How does this differ from parolees? They report to a parole officer on a regular basis, and must report if they move etc.

I’m with the others thinking this is a back door for “15 minute cities”. It’s the usual attempt to get around people by giving the excuse that it’s to go after terrorists and child predators.
