Two friends have accused an Airbnb host of “xenophobia” after they were rejected for a room booking because they were Welsh.
Jemma Louise Gough, 38, and Jamie Lee Watkins, 37, had been trying to book an £83 double room for one night at the property in Manchester.
No Welsh within the walls overnight.

It’s alledgedly still legal under Chester bye laws to use a bow and arrow to shoot people of Welsh persuasion. It might be an urban legend, but I prefer to think it’s true.

Ryan and Tim – nearly – no Welshman in the city walls in Chester after dark when the gates shut, you can shoot them with a bow and arrow at that point (not in the day) allegedly according to a local by law that was never rescinded but superseded. Used to go walking in Wales, walked up to the pub heard them all change to Welsh as we came up the road, so the Welsh vet with us went in and ordered our round in Welsh just to watch their faces,

I don’t know the legal terms but future laws or laws from higher bodies generaly make past laws inoperable. In Germany several states still have the death penalty on their statute books but federal law bans the death penalty so no need for states to rescind their death penalty laws.
Didn’t hear many Welsh accents when I went to Chester last year, but far worse, tons of Scouse accents! At least the Welsh can sing!

Mind you my own experiences with Welshmen have been entirely to their credit. Of course, I’m not English.
Come to think of it, my experiences with American blacks are to their credit which means I must be almost unique among white men I suppose. Or, put another way, it’s just the statistics of small numbers. Maybe the Welsh too.
They ought to try going to an England Wales game in Cardiff (either Rugby or football) @and try telling the various denizens ‘There’s nothing wrong with being English) ultimately if Reform is serious about changing the country everything to do with race discrimination will need to be abolished – no EHRC, no Hate Crime,, all the race relations acts mothballed – nothing. So this is a good dry run.
Apparently, sheep are terrified by Welsh accents, but placid when addressed in other languages, which is why they lend themselves to halal slaughter by passing Parkies. As one sheep said to another: “They may murder you, but you don’t get raped first”. White girls in Rochdale may differ, of course.
(Afghans find sheep less sexy than goats, because their tails go down, and not up. Was that Kipling?)

Having spent a fair amount of time in the US over the past 30 years I have come to the unsurprising conclusion that the behaviour of American blacks (not so much for Hispanics) is very much dependent on whether interaction takes place on “their” or “our” territory.
If the former then exercise extreme caution, avoid eye contact and keep shtum.
(Incidentally airports and planes are nearly always their territory).

I was a bit slow on the uptake about Asian immigrants because I worked with programmers from India and Pakistan who are basically a good bunch of blokes.
I’ve always found the Welsh friendly, but I suspect that’s about the places I did work: Wrexham, Swansea and Cardiff. They’re connected to England so they don’t have much xenophobia. There’s people who commute from Newport to Bristol, from Chester to Wrexham. People in Wrexham probably do days out shopping or seeing concerts in Liverpool.
Roughly speaking, drawn a line south of Rhyl as far as Brecon, then a line West from there, that’s the fans of the letter L and Owain Glyndŵr. I worked in Cardiff for months and never once heard a word of Welsh spoken.

Exactly. Abortion isn’t an ennumerated power so the federal government wasn’t the higher authority.
