I’d take most odds offered that Emmanuel has, has had, will have a mistress, no-one mentions it of course because French.
Many years ago my dad did some consultancy work for a company which shall remain nameless. The CEO was shagging his secretary and everyone knew that. As a consultant, he didn’t realise at first, took a look at the work she was actually doing and the quality of work she was doing – she was effectively doing a COO’s job – and was about to recommend a massive promotion and pay rise when one of the other directors tipped him off that she was shagging the boss.
So this can work out both ways for the woman – she can get an undeserved promotion, but also be denied a well-earned one.
