Defending democracy

But don’t stop there. Australia abandoned its proposed law aimed at tackling disinformation on digital platforms last year. This was a mistake. The human rights we deserve in the physical world, we deserve in the virtual world. Platforms that profit from lies must be held accountable for the democratic damage they cause to users of all ages.

Censor everyone’s speech.

“From a Peace Prize Laureate FFS.”

Yeah, but they gave one to Gore and Obama for being the right sort of guys. Trump could produce lasting peace in the Middle East and there is no way they will give him one.

“Platforms that profit from lies must be held accountable for the democratic damage they cause to users of all ages.”

The reason activist journalists are all pissed about “big tech” is that they put in years of effort to get into the priesthoods of The Guardian or CNN and they’re no longer the power bases they were. Anyone can start a blog, a Substack, posting on 4Chan. Including The Wrong Sort of People.

“Without facts, you can’t have truth. Without truth, you can’t have trust. Without trust, we have no shared reality.

We can’t begin to solve any problems, let alone existential ones like climate change. We can’t have journalism, we can’t have democracy.”

I gave up reading at that point. Giving us the worst possible example of ‘facts’ and ‘truth’ being abused.

She might as well have said ‘ without making stuff up, we can’t have freedom.’

Oh, we’ve got the Truth and Truth is good, like apple pie and motherhood.
But Apple’s got the Truth, but things are still good, who’s next?
Hey, Google’s got the Truth and so have YouTube,
But they’re on our side, so I’m no rube, who’s next?
Hey, InfoWars and Breibart too,
They’ve got the truth, well who knew? who’s next?
Hey, that’s not the truth, at least not my truth
They should only say what I say’s the truth, who’s next?
Shut them down! shut them down!
That’s not the truth, I’m no clown, who’s next?
who’s next?
who’s next?

The peace prize was not originally a part of Alfred Nobel’s plan which was to recognise scientific excellence. The peace prize has in the past been awarded to all kinds of undesirables. For instance, that sadistic hypocrite that called herself Mother Theresa.

Except, y’know… privacy, free speech, freedom of association, freedom of assembly…

Whenever I think the UK is top of the international leaderboard for leftwing authoritarian shitholes that pretend to be free and democratic societies, I just need to read the news from Australia.

It never stopped being a prison colony, look how they treated people during COVID.

Aussies always seem like sensible, likable, good natured people to me, so it’s a mystery where they find all these cunts.

Steve, Australia was populated by transported criminals. And their gaolers.

That’s a very good point – if you look across the former dominions – Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, in many ways these people have some of the greatest assholes on the planet. Just authoritarians made that much more dangerous by the various scum over here who treat their pronouncements as holy writ, rather than the utterings of a quarter wit.

I’m beginning to think, as you mentioned in your post around Murphy posing as some
Latter day Che Guevara yesterday that the tactics employed by the likes of Ernst Roehm back in the day against the Hard Left might be well re- employed against people this dreadful…

We think our lot are bad, but certainly it is difficult for anyone here to reach the levels of depraved evil of people such as Dan Andrews of Victoria, Jackboot Jacinda or Fidel Trudeau.
I think we could imagine what their jobs would have been in another time and place.

VP – it’s sad to see what they did to Canada. It was already full of Chinese 25 years ago, now it’s a colony of India and their beaches have become human toilets. That’s a planned murder of a nation. We’re not supposed to grieve because Thelebrate Diverthity, but I think deep down every white person mourns the country we grew up in, and hates feeling like a foreigner in their own land.

South Africa was always going to turn into a typical African shithole as soon as they handed power to the hunter gatherers, which of course was the whole point of “anti-apartheid”. When Dutch settlers arrived on the Cape, they found our African equals hadn’t even invented roads (!). Europeans took them from dancing naked around fires to the jet age, which of course is an unforgivable sin of flaunting our white supremacy.

In another 50 years, they’ll be back to dancing naked around fires. That’s why I don’t bother giving money to the Black Babies anymore.

Otto – it is difficult for anyone here to reach the levels of depraved evil of people such as Dan Andrews of Victoria, Jackboot Jacinda or Fidel Trudeau.

Nicola Sturgeon. It’s lucky she joined the SNP, and not Labour or the Tories, because she’s exactly the kind of sociopathic gimp the Enemy likes to put in power over us. With exactly the same astroturfed cult of personality promoted by the lying press. (Always puzzled me how they created a cult of personality around someone with a horrible personality)

I think the English equivalent would be Theresa May. The fact that she’s still well thought of among the establishment – including the royal family – tells you how thoroughly rotten and putrescent our establishment is. Theresa May is a particularly shameless liar and, like the rest of her ilk, is essentially a counterfeit politician in a fake political party whose job is not to do anything for our country or the voters, but to ensure our votes are harmlessly dissipated and don’t interrupt any of the evil plans our betters have for us.

That’s why the Indian midget, Sunak, did a gay little dance of glee the day after his party lost hundreds of seats in the election. The Petit Turd was put in place to ensure the seamless handover of power to the other half of the Uniparty, not to do anything for you, white man. The Tories were never trying to stop Labour from winning, they were trying to stop Reform and the threat of British democracy.

And yet people I know who are generally sensible still try to defend the unflushed one. Must be his cheeky grin.

The Peace, Literature and Economics Prizes have long been recognized as political awards, the difference between them being that the recipients of the first two can’t do anyone any actual harm.

Can’t disagree with you there.
May has one mitigating factor. She is a woman of immense stupidity, I think she was the willing tool, because she knew no better. Doesn’t excuse her treason, however.

Otto – she knew exactly what she was doing by gaslighting us – “Brexit means Brexit” – whilst working very hard in the background to surrender to the EU (imagine how confused the French must have been).

I think it was at Chequers or something where she unmasked her Brexit means Brexit surrender scheme to the cabinet, and anybody who wasn’t willing to immediately agree was told they’d have to leave and walk a few miles for a taxi? (BTW I’ve never seen humiliation used like that in any business I’ve ever worked for, and I’ve worked for some orrible cunts, but politicians do teenage mean girl stuff all the time without getting punched, it’s a tragedy)

Her deceitfulness was incredibly transparent and obvious, but look at the esteem in which she is held! Even the supposed Tory Brexiters wouldn’t breathe a word against her while she was actively stitching up every man, woman and not-sure in this country. She got a lot more respect for some dark, demonic reason than Cameron or Johnson did.

Let’s hope death – not Romeo – takes our Baroness Maidenhead.
