It’s the opening of a Boulting Brothers film, isn’t it?

A fugitive child sex offender spent 90 minutes asking prison staff who had mistakenly released him from HMP Chelmsford where he should go before they sent him to a train station, a witness said.

Part of the plot will be some well fit lawyer bird (say, that blondie who keeps insiting she be called Dr. It’s her mind that’s wrong, not physique) defending him on charges of having absconded and thus having his sentence increased for having been on the run etc. That defence will be just a retailing of what actually happened when he was released.

Actually, the film opens at his trial for having absconded with her questioning screws etc, their answers appearing as flashbacks. “Yes, we told ‘im to git”. “And he asked you why he was being released?” and so on….

Now, where we take it from there is the question. We’ve a good 20 minutes of comedy there. So, does it become realist? He goes on to thieve and steal and aggress his way acros the country? Or off into phantasy where the brown illegal immigrant changes a car tyre so that the cancer stricken kid can get to cancer treatment as choirs of angels sing and bystanders clap?

He accidentally stumbles Ito an experiment involving gamma radiation and becomes The Hulk, terrorising London while the Army sends in the tanks.
His love for a little girl ….ahem…redeems him.

Is Hadush Kebatu a Mussulman? If so, may I assume he won’t eat dogs or could I write a script where he dines off little else? Little furbabies scoffed with vigour and a cackling laugh, eh?

Majority of Ethiopians are Christians so the odds are that he’s one too.

Excellent point. But does that mean he will eat dogs?

Tim, can you or one of your kind commenters please confirm this is the planet Earth and it is 2025 and no catastrophic supernatural event has happened apart from the well known catastrophic even of a Labour government staffed by the Crooks ‘n Clowns gang getting in power?

Can confirm that this is the real timeline and that since about 1990, the British Establishment has been gradually ramping up its indirect war on the British people.

Well, no airships, so it’s probably the real timeline.

It’s 2025, and while this is Planet Earth I am convinced I stepped through a Murakamieque portal to a parallel universe. It happened in Kyoto, in 2018. I know it happened because I know exactly where it happened, I can take you back to the very same corner of the very same street, but the place does not exist and there is no record of it ever having existed. I have photos mysteriously without GPS coordinates. It happened at precisely the timepoint after which everything became increasingly, and implausibly, weird. So, I apologise if I am the cause of your very genuine distress.

Would love it if he shoplifted an ex-Glastonbury tent from the Red Cross shop, pinched some bottles of water from a Fun Run, petty but uncivil things in other words, but then redeemed himself by spotting an anti-anti-immigrant demonstration go by, followed someone carrying a ‘refugees welcome’ sign to their home and camped in their garden.

Unfortunately, the reality is he’s more likely to be apprehended after sexually assaulting a little girl. Or not apprehended, is even more likely

apprehended after sexually assaulting a little girl

In which case the mother of all special injunctions would seek to prevent any media coverage.

(Except the scumbag has just been recaptured so this time at least the government has dodged a potentially game-changing bullet).

Kebatu was sentenced to a year in prison last month and had been due to be deported but was instead released with his belongings and given a payment of £76, the standard discharge grant for initial living expenses.

The Ministry of Justice blamed “human error”

I don’t believe them.

Because it would require humans to be involved?

No, because it would involve these fuckers having made an innocent, unpremeditated error.

Just a thought, but why don’t we get to know anything about the prison official(s) who released him? perhaps I have a suspicious mind.

I had a friend who had a break in. The burglar was caught (yes, it was a seriously long time ago) and he claimed he’d injured himself at the property. So the cops brought him back to ask him to point out where he’d injured himself while breaking in. Friend went ape at the cops, assuming they were supporting some kind of injury claim, threw them out, then had to learn later in the pub why they’d done it.

Of course today they’d be supporting the injury claim.
