If by “the UK’s” he means HMG spending of money it’s coerced from us then 0.1% is a ludicrous target. The figure should be 0.0%.
We can all give foreign aid individually so there is no intellectually respectable case for government intrusion.
One exception might be the need to bribe foreign politicians to accept the flow of expulsees whom we hope to send their way. Idle hopes, I dare say, but you never know.

Absolutely dearime. In fact, all government spending on foreign nations, charities abroad, the United Nations ($136.8 million this year) and all UK charities should be stopped. I object to my money being wasted, both home and abroad. Support a charity? Then spend your own money on it.

Anyway, as Bauer made the point – who deprived whom of what? Should we be pursuing Egypt for pre biblical depradations? Norway/ Denmark for Viking activity? Mongolia for Genghis Khan? Of course he doesn’t think that. The man is beyond an ass. An absolute tool.
It’s all in service of grants and donations. Grants from ‘charities’, donations from individuals.
If it happens, the Left would lose most of it’s funding. We all know where most of the “foreign aid” ends up and it’s not with the needy 🙁

But it fails at a moral level as well, because we are a rich country. We have a duty to redistribute our wealth to those who are quite simply poor in comparison to ourselves. We have a duty to do so unconditionally. We do not need to spend this money on paying for migrants in this country. We need to spend it in the countries where they came from, so they don’t have the incentive to leave those places because they have the opportunities there, which are otherwise denied to them.
We aren’t a rich country – you might think we are but we aren’t . We stand on the precipice of collapse because of policies like MMT, which you assiduously support. And I’m accusing Mel Stride of all these things because he is seeking to discriminate against the people of the world on the basis they’re not British, just as we did when we were a colonial power.

You send a $100m USAID grant to to Timbuktu to help social justice for lesbian donkeys. The local chief buys a new Merc and some bling and some pussy and some bling for the pussy and the other $95m goes to the ‘aid organisation’ who ‘wins’ the ‘contract’ to ‘deliver’ the ‘work’.
The major shareholder is eg Hunter Biden. The Big Guy gets 10% (or more) and the lesbian donkeys get a sign in their field saying ‘Social Justice Project Delivered by USAID’.
