Ho, right then Moira

In the fall of 2017, shortly after the emergence of the #MeToo movement, Larry Summers, the economist who resigned as the president of Harvard University over statements he made suggesting that women were less intelligent than men, wrote to Epstein to complain that if you “hit on a few women 10 years ago” you “can’t work at a network or think tank”. Epstein also wrote multiple emails to the billionaire venture capitalist and rightwing mega-donor Peter Thiel, including one with the subject line: “that was fun, see you in 3 weeks.” In another email, Epstein offered to introduce Thiel to Woody Allen.

There is no evidence that these men participated in Jeffrey Epstein’s habitual sexual abuse of girl children. But their interactions with him suggest a kind of blithe tolerance of his presence in their midst, a seeming comfort in exchanging intimate – and sometimes lewd – exchanges with a man they must have known to have sexually exploited a child. Many of the emails to and from Epstein are marked by a tone of haughty knowingness, a kind of worldly, smug cynicism I’ve encountered before in people who think that they are smarter than everyone else. Maybe in the haughty world of billionaires and private jets, it is considered provincial to think that adults should not have sex with children. Maybe to them, morality is for the little people.

Can you hear that high horse being clambered upon?

I remain convinced that in every ‘Guardian article, there is one sentence that invalidates its very existence. Found it!

There is no evidence that these men participated in Jeffrey Epstein’s habitual sexual abuse of girl children.

Not to or from but about…

And it seems the “about” is generally how Epstein can bring down Trump before Trump gets Epstein. Strange how that is usually omitted.

Michael Wolff, the creepy journalist who wrote a book that was supposed to bring down President Trump’s government, was corresponding with Epstein asking the disgraced Mossad asset to imply he had “tapes” on someone…

Absolutely Julia, I find that is the case for many articles in the British press.

Hang on… “Girl children”?

She just assumed their gender.

I’m not up with the current Zeitgeist: Does that make her a fascistic bigot, or a bigoted fascist?

At the risk of granting the Donald 4D chess skills that he doesn’t have, is it possible the Dems are being played here?

Oh please Brer Democrat, don’t make me release the Epstein files!!! Anything but that!!!

Jim – I agree. I think it’s the equivalent of the Lynton Crosby Dead Cat strategy. Trying to get them to obsess over this – classic bait and switch.

I don’t think it’s 4D chess… Nor an actual Cunning Plan….

At that level everyone who is anything has had “contact” with everyone.

It would have been trivial for Trump, aided by possibly Musk, certainly Internal Services, to collate a list of Names in those emails, along with their “relationships” v/v.
Standard mapping of the political Landscape.
I damn well would have….

And they found out those emails were in fact several sacks of Hammers bound to come down on *both* sides.. With some Big Names involved.
So Trump/his Staff decided it *might* be a good idea to have a good look at things first, and potentially let key figures Bow Out gracefully before the Inevitable.

Being suggested by Trump et.al., TDR engaged in full force at Dem Central amongst the more excitable people, so they started to *insist* the emails would be published , unredacted, in full…

No 4D chess, no conspiracies, no Cunning Plan…
Just Dems being Dems, going ReeeeEeeee!! and dismissing *anything* that comes out of Camp Trump, even if it makes perfect sense. Because TDR.

Anyone following Trump’s career can surely see plainly that he does have those skills.

They were completely uninterested in discussing Epstein – which was a Qanon-tier right wing conspiracy theory for tinfoil loonies – right up until Trump said there was no “client list” a few weeks ago. And they haven’t shut up about it since.

Not sure if 4D underwater chess or just oppositional defiance disorder. The ultimate “win” for them would be to harm Trump somehow, but Epstein was a tier 1 asset of the spooky fuckers. The whole thing is radioactive to the establishment, Trump – as usual – could fall into this lava pit and come out with a salmon in his mouth. They may come to wish they hadn’t demanded more public release of info

She’s also clearly never interacted with any Corbynites or Green party supporters on ‘X’…

Trust a Guardian columnist to be able to identify ‘worldly, smug cynicism in people who think that they are smarter than everyone else’ quickly

Ha absolutely. i read a curated sample of about 20 of the emails. And (so far) yes you have to do a lot of reading between the lines to get to dastardly deeds. Fun to look through lists of names and try an recognise Brits. (so far i only saw Mandleson and Prince Andrew). Boris (no surname) was mentioned and i think we’d have a front page from the G if that checked out to be our PM/

But yeah the haughty knowingness i definitely recognise in these emails. Then again its a v common trait in G journalists in particular and also in every whatsapp leak that we get from time to time from movers and shakers.

Two rather obvious observations:-

The democrats controlled the White House, congress, the senate, the DOJ, FBI and NSA. For years they instigated impeachment proceedings for the most trivial deemed offences yet strangely never went after their deadliest enemy for his Epstein connections despite presumably being in possession of the “damning evidence” they’re only now getting excited about. How queer.

Re morality the predilection of so many establishment folk for associating with Epstein had its parallel in 1960’s Britain when the great and the good rubbed shoulders (and often more) with known gangsters. Similarly although lefties might never organise or sanction murderous acts of terrorism they have little or no problem associating and being seen with those whose hands drip with blood.

They never released the files while they were in charge either.

Epstein died in 2019. The government had all these files right through the Biden presidency.

Summers is obviously a cunt but only a fool or a liar could claim that he made “statements … suggesting that women were less intelligent than men”

Female IQs are, on average, slightly above those of males (something like 101 to 99). But their standard deviation is significantly smaller, so fewer female morons and geniuses.

Well yes…. And a couple of other Observations that have been made around the actual shape of the bell curves v/v Male/Female in all higher primate species with a social structure.

Of course, given that the conclusions from these observations contradict, if not outright invalidate Modern Feminist Theory, even when they make perfect sense, it hardly gets taught anymore.
Because.

And yet….Eppur si muove…..

Summers didn’t say women were less intelligent than men, he said on average they were less interested in STEM subjects.

Good Lord! Summers is not just a cunt but a cunt stupid enough to write stuff down and send it to a criminal.
