I banned one person from commenting here yesterday for what I considered to be an English racist comment that suggested that English colonial rule in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland remains acceptable because a case for the alternative had not been and making clear in that person’s Engish view that we are better off as a single country without showing any sign that they did in any way appreciate the views of those who think otherwise in the other countries in question.
In my opinion, that is a racist comment, and it is unacceptable to me.
To be English and shout “Bugger the Celts” is not racist by the same test.

Chin up Alan. I agree with you. The Uk needs reform not breaking up into separate states. I don’t think you’re a colonialist and nor am I. I think that final word (now) indicates a rather ageist perspective myself. In our current world it isn’t unreasonable to be concerned about defence. That there is a clear and settled wish of three nations to go is not yet proven beyond doubt. The Welsh have not been asked and Plaid Cymru does not propose to ask them during their first parliament. The last time the Scots were asked they said no. I would be in favour of a Federal Uk. Richard is clearly against for reasons I respect, but don’t agree with. I think the least relevant thing about me is that I am English.

I think its worth preserving just to show what a complete asshat the man is. But so often he proves that. Who could forget GERS? Christie Malry?, The Tax Justice Network? The Oxford Center for Business Taxation? John Mcdonnell? Gary Stevenson? The one common thread being a preternaturally thin skinned buffoon. Given most of the Scots and Welsh (indeed most of the Northern Irish) are transplanted from England he’s doubly stupid.

The sooner people accept that being called racist is irrelevant the sooner we can have a grown up discussion on the shitshow that is the UK.
The fact that other races are willing to leave their own countries, risk their lives and pay money to traffickers to come and live amongst our race clearly demonstrates they believe our race is better than their race.

On the topic of people paying traffickers to come here, I understand that over 80% of asylum claimants are muslim, but they never seem to seek asylum in any of the 50 odd Muslim countries around the world. They only seek asylum in non Muslim countries. Funny that.
I have to question whether the 80% are really Muslim or whether they dare not say – until they are somewhere safe (i.e. a region with an approximately zero Muslim population) – that their beliefs and behaviour “fail to” (do not) match the local mullahs interpretation of the Qu’ran since that would be a death sentence.
