Colston Hall, renamed Virtue Signalling Towers (or something or other) but still known as The Colston Hall by the vast majority of Bristolians, is situated on Colston Street, which is just off Colston Avenue in the city centre.

The thing with the names of places is common communication. It doesn’t matter if its Colston Hall, Terry Waite Hall or Pol Pot Hall. Everyone understands the place that is being talked about.

I was at the Colston Hall (or Bristol Beacon as its known now) just the other day, to see Adam Ant (he was pretty pants to be honest, but his band were good) and its changed a lot since I saw it last. Its got a massive open foyer with stairs going up to suspended walkways to get into the various tiers of seating. Looks great. Functions great when everyone is coming into the auditorium in dribs and drabs at the start. Hopeless when everyone comes out en masse at the end of the gig, the walkways and stairs are rammed solid. If the building were on fire it would be a slaughter. God knows how it gets past the fire regs.
