I know my local history all right. I’ve been in the Town Hall (fabulous interior, now no doubt completely fucked up). I know someone who attended the Hornsey School of Art, knew the building when it was still a Trades Union residential training centre, and after it was converted to a school my daughter went to it. I simply don’t walk around Hornsey High St. much because I have little need to go there.

For a while I was involved in a battered women rescue thing that also did drug counseling. It was a bit of a joke as some of the battered women would smuggle their exes into the safe house at night.
