Get used to it folks

German leftwing militants protesting over the climate crisis and AI have claimed responsibility for an arson attack that cut power to tens of thousands of households in Berlin.

Because, of course and as you know, if the lefties get their way then all of society will suffer such outages regularly. There is no possible way to run an industrial society with the more extreme demands about power generation after all…..

Time to start reusing the term ‘traitor’ then (and not meaning a popular TV show).

With socialists in charge, you don’t get “outages”. You might hope for “inages” occasionally…

There is no possible way to run an industrial society with the more extreme demands about power generation after all

But the likes of Murphy/ Monbiot and the various XR/IB/ JSO groups don’t want an Industrial society. A return to the Middle Ages is just up their street.

Could Murphy and Monbiot fend for themselves in the Middle Ages?

Yes… sort of…

Spud would be one of the “Heresy, Heresy everywhere!!” pulpit pounders trying to buck for Bishop, even Abbot, and failing.
Monidiot would be in one of the more ecclesiastic monastic Orders, writing furious letters to Rome while self-flagellating..

You could do something equivalent for the Guilds, and resultant City Councils.
Their …Type… has been around ever since this “bureaucracy” thing was invented.

Bishop? He’d be writing to all the Popes demanding to be made King and for spending all the gold on his “viride novum multum”.

That isn’t fending for themselves – that is pontificating while leeching off the manual labour of others

Yes, but that is what they both do in a Medieval Setting…
And the Structure they use was already there in those Times…

90% of humanity *ever* cannot or could ever fend for themselves. It’s a non-argument that died out when we started living as social animals.

the Vulkangruppe (Volcano Group) said it had deliberately targeted some of the city’s wealthiest districts.

Preliminary theories for the weekend power outage had included possible Russian sabotage, as Germany has been on high alert for attacks on its infrastructure from foreign actors.

The two are not mutually exclusive….

Never understood this nasty people – I mean if we’re going to tread more lightly on the planet then we have to share more. A gallery is where you share public art, an electric grid feeds thousands of houses more efficiently than everyone having their own generator, traffic lights and roundabouts allow road space to be shared.
Amps to the testicles for them.

I’ll gladly read your treatise on the mental state of religious/political fanatics, and any of the ways we could have them listen to actual Logic, instead of their Doctrine.

Until then you treat them the same as rapists, murderers, and kiddie fiddlers: hoisted on a rope from a lamp-post. They don’t deserve the Decent Drop.

That’s the idea, cut power to the proles in January with the temperature down to -7 at night and they’ll be flocking to join your little gang. Are these people mad (rhetorical…….).

The crisis isn’t about the climate, it’s the trillions being shoveled down the bottomless pit of climate action.

I notice that the headline doesn’t put “climate crisis” in quotes. I wonder if “journalists” could defend that position.

Preliminary theories for the weekend power outage had included possible Russian sabotage,

Lol. Why would the Russians need to sabotage Germany when the German government is doing a much better job than they could?

Germany has dismantled its own energy infrastructure, cut itself off from its previous and only possible supplier of cheap gas, and filled its towns and cities with Muslims and Africans while taxing and regulating to death anything that was still moving and spying on, attacking and jailing their milquetoast centre-right opposition.

They’ll be lucky if they still have reliable hot water by 2040. All Putin needs to do to defeat Germany is wait.

There should be a prison specially for all greenies who claim climate change justifies their crimes.

Nothing powered by fossil fuels or for daily use created using fossil fuels.

They can only eat what they grow.

No drugs invented after the industrial revolution.

No modern clothes.

Etc etc.

Obviously the guards would have access to all that modern life has to offer.

Already happening

will use approximately a quarter of the energy used to heat traditional Victorian prisons”
I’m guessing that you would go further BiND and build traditional prisons with 1/4 of the energy of those allowed to be used. Could even let the prisoners work out their own rationing system which would be fun as they are not reputed for agreeing

Weasel talk…. Victorian prisons were *designed* to be dismal, draughty, mold-ridden, unconmfortable places to *punish* whoever ended up in them.
Even *trying* to get them up to spec to modern rules of “comfort” for prisoners is fighting against the very design principles of those buildings.

Comparing those hellholes to anything built past WWII is cheating.

It’s like comparing MpG[equivalent] of a ModelT Ford v/s a modern Milk Float.
And deliberately leaving out modern turbo diesels.
