The world awaits the white smoke

All this requires that I take time to think about what to do next, taking into account the risks that exist. That is what I propose to do today.

It will, quite soon, look like I am bird watching, and I will undoubtedly be out in the open, with a pair of binoculars around my neck, except when I might be having a coffee, but will I necessarily be able to avoid thoughts of a world that is very, very mad as a consequence of the actions of Donald Trump, which are now getting worse than anything I anticipated, this quickly, even though I entirely accurately described him as a fascist seeking to destroy democracy from time long before it became popular to do so?

I am not sure I will be able to avoid those thoughts, because we now have the reality of that prediction coming true to face.

How, then, do we live with a nagging fear of fascism, and the fact that our government, and so many other governments, and so few commentators, appear willing to call this fascism when its very obvious impact already exists all around us? That is the question I need to consider.

All eyes turn Elyward as we await the solution for our times.

Of course, he’s an unitelligent American who doesn’t know what it is to be civilised. If you’re intelligent, civilised and democratic you need to join the EU where unelected but hand picked civilised unintelligent people will rule your country for you. You need to respect the borders of other countries, not your own, of course, and send your indigenous far-right facist citizens off to die trying to defend another country’s borders. You need to entice lots of nice kind Muslims to keep the indigenous population in hand. In short, you need to do exactly what a team of hiuman rights lawyers tell you to do in accordance with the international law they made up last Wednesday…

It’s such a shame for all these cunts, either just too young or just too old to see The Young Ones, and enjoy Rik’s liberal use of the word ‘fascist’.

Since WW2, the left have called their opponents either Fascists or Nazis in order to justify their use of violence against ordinary people who’s views don’t agree with their own.

“It will … look like I am bird watching … with a pair of binoculars around my neck”

So what are the binoculars for, if he isn’t bird watching?

Has the paranoia kicked in, so he’s looking out for the snatch squad he’s probably convinced Trump is sending after him, because of the huge international impact of his weighty pronouncements?

Or is it just the sort of dodgy behaviour with binoculars that is probably more usual amongst middle-aged men in East Anglia?

It struck me as a bit perky when I first read it:

No officer, I’m not looking in to that window, I’m looking at the pair of tits in the tree behind.

But then that’s probably my warped sense of humour.

Watching S01E01 of Morse this morning, the dodgy guy* with binoculars was watching the lady over the road getting undressed.

Took me 30 minutes to realise it was Patrick Troughton! Damn, but he was a good actor.

Incidentally I shall be spending this afternoon sorting out a set of nuts and bolts that arrived all jumbled up. Except when I might be having a cup of tea. I thought it was important to let people know that.

The more I think about it, the more I think these people are genuinely evil.

The sole reason the Mullahs aren’t sending their goon squads onto the streets of Teheran and elsewhere at the moment is because Trump has warned them that if they start shooting he will, and they believe him.

Gays hanged, woman beaten and even murdered for not covering their hair, the entire population bar the chosen few going hungry, by an all-encompassing state that is trying to develop nuclear weapons so that it can kill everyone in Israel, for starters, and which truly is fascist, and yet these utter fucking cunts are still laser-focused on the orange man.

” and yet these utter fucking cunts are still laser-focused on the orange man.”

Well yes…. Because you can pontificate about the Evil Orange Man all you like, even call him names. Most likely get on a List as well if you go beyond the normal ReeeEEee!-ing.
It’s only when you are deemed to become a genuine threat that peeps actually start paying attention, and the likes of Spud simply don’t rate that.

And as much as they Hate being deemed Insignificant, they also know they’re safe in doing so, so lay about without abandon.
Safe Pixie Points in their in-crowd.

Now try to do the same about the Ayatollahs, or even local extremist Imam’s….
If you aren’t rapidly nicked for HurtyWords™, then you can expect Directed Unpleasantness from the more exciteable RoPers..
And they *really* aren’t Subtle about it…

So doing that is actually dangerous, which means the spineless bastards won’t touch the subject, at all.
Because for all their bluster, they’re all cowards deep to their core.

It seems there are plenty of people turning up to hospitals with gunshot wounds so it’ll be interesting what Trump does.

Apparently, in response to claims that there is no free speech in Iran, the mad mullahs have said “we’ve had free speech for a very, very long time here, so we’re very proud of that”. Keir Starmer is unavailable for comment.

And yet in the middle of all this, he knows the truth but refuses to follow it; he deals in lies. For example, he insists on calling Maduro “the Venezuelan president”. He knows Maduro has no legitimacy. He knows Venezuelans the world.over are delighted. He has a paying market for his videos though in the U.S. He knows what they want to hear, so he gives it to them.
Lying, thieving Capitalist scum.

Speaking of amusing lack of self awareness, the new Naked Gun movie with Liam Neeson as Lt Frank Drebin is the funniest film I’ve seen in a long time. Neeson has a genius for comedy deadpan. Somewhere, Leslie Nielsen (reincarnated as an owl) is hooting with pride.

I had long thought it was called Naked Gin, meaning gin for someone who doesn’t need a tonic.

I assume its a strictly limited form of birdwatching suitable for the corpulent and vehicle bound.
Cant see the fat f getting far ftom his car.
Certainly cant see him striding up mountains, fells and moors
to watch snow buntings or eagles.

That’s a bit harsh N. If you observed the crease line in his belt on his appearance on the Bold with Zack Podcast you can see he’s put the work in to lose a lot of weight. Walks further from his car than anyone else, although that’s a low bar for twitchers and wetlanders as 90% never walk more than 1km from the car park or cafe.
Sadly the authoritarian thinks what he achieved through will has to be imposed ‘cos big food takes their agency. Many such examples including Tom Watson.
Streeting recently revealed that half of MPs have tried weight loss drugs, but the bastards still want to stop us buying our favourite tasty meals ‘cos they’re sold to us by ‘big food’ and ‘for profit’.

There was an item on Friday’s More of Less from the British Attitudes Survey saying trust in politicians has never been so low with the vast majority of voters thinking MPs put party before country.

The only surprised is BAS being surprised.

Wearing binoculars suggests either bird-watching (not the potato’s thing) or some pervy stuff. To be sort-of-kind to the miserable, pompous twit-git, perhaps he has a directive from his controllers to ‘keep an eye’ on some tax-avoiding neighbours.
Or perhaps his train set look more real from a distance?
I bought some Parmentier potatoes recently – diced into cubes – be a pity if he suffered the same fate.

So Murphy can’t wear binoculars and drink coffee at the same time?

Old joke, bu I dont think theres a nudist beach on Elys shores – might catch a glimpse through the rowing club windows I guess.
So I presume his wife told him to get out from under her feet.
Still he is probably raking it in from long stock bets based on his sagacity and all those predictions coming true.
