Police are searching two properties connected to Peter Mandelson as part of an investigation into claims that he passed market-sensitive information to Jeffrey Epstein.
A Metropolitan police statement, which did not name Mandelson, said searches were taking place in Camden, north London, and Wiltshire. Mandelson has been living in a rented property in Wiltshire since being sacked as ambassador to the US over his links to the late convicted child sex offender.
Whatever didn’t happen didn’t happen at lesat a decade ago.
What physical evidence is anyone thinking of?
Squirrels at work.
Anything of interest would have been shredded long ago.
It is like watching rozzers carrying out the monitors to suspects PCs.
More interesting is how did Mandy afford that house and the one in Wiltshire ?
It’s about time there was some investigative interest in the sources of his wealth (and Blair’s).
The total lack of curiosity by the authorities and by the journalist class into that issue is itself a story waiting to be told. Perhaps Michael Crick could assist.
Crick is an Establishment stooge as well.
Or at least he was when working for Channel4.
Indeed. I was being a little sarcastic. Crick’s silence is one of the most deafening.
An old long abandoned laptop or old phones would be the only prizes that spring to mind.
People often have them stored away as they know they are “valuable” so don’t get around to proper disposal.
Also…statements from closed bank accounts, photographs, etc?
It’s just performative. *Look, we’re doing something”. He’s 72. Even if they found something, after all the investigation and delays, he would never see a day in jail.
Maybe not, but it brightens my day to daydream about him being eventually released from jail: destitute, homeless, title-less, friendless and having to give blowjobs to strangers for the price of a cup of tea.
If convicted of Misconduct in Public Office, Mandelslime would go down. I hope that one day this awful woman will also be behind bars…
Is this a poster for a new The Conjuring horror film ?
She’s damned close to the top of my list. Did lasting damage to the country from every high office she held yet still a Baroness.
I doubt that thought was involved.
Process = punishment?
And for once the performative process is inflicted on one of their. Albeit one they have decided to their under the bus.
It reminds me of when Jim Davidson got dragged into Operation Yewtree. “I’ve moved home 4 times since then!” He explained. But that wasn’t the point; wasn’t the point at all.
I’m surprised they have enough time with all the stuff going on at properties “connected to” TTK.
The statute of limitations in the US for insider trading is ten years. To my surprise there is no time bar for prosecuting insider trading in England. I thought that was only true for murder. There don’t seem to be millions made illegally for him to disgorge – he just did it why? To impress a “friend”? Anyway, yes, performative.
