I hope I’m not being too gloomy but it doesn’t look to me as if Operation Epic Fubar is going well. How could they be so foolish as to start this war without a solution to keeping the Strait open? Unless maybe the US isn’t really worried about that? Who can tell?
Still, things can change. Until it ends the outcome is uncertain.

I tend to take early commentary with a grain of salt. Things don’t look great but that happens with wars. Some of the worst fighting in WWII was towards the end. Then Germany and Japan collapsed. But that took a huge strength of will on the part of the Allies to cop a lot of pain.
Whether that exists today… each way bet for me.

I would say it’s going very well. Any impressions its not is partly a function of the BBC’s orange man bad themed reporting. They talk about waves of Iranian missile and drones but fail to give the numbers in them or their frequency thus avoiding that there are fewer and fewer and just a fraction of what was launched in the first few days. It gives the impression that it’s not a very one sided conflict. We will most probably see the US focus narrow to the Stait of Hormuz quite soon and ships will flow, though explosives placed by drones on ships in other places the detonated in the Strait for effect will remain a problem.

I note this very day that the BBBC describe our very own head prankster and liar-in-chief as “Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer”, whereas the President of the United States is merely “Trump.”
For the Yids this is existential. Their military and intelligence establishment has demonstrated exhaustively that it knows what it’s doing and is capable of being astonishingly inventive. Hormuz was always going to be a problem; increasingly as IRGC installed missiles all along the coast. It was always going to be blocked temporarily, and therefore a lot of thought and resources will have been put into stopping this being a losing proposition.
Whether that plan actually works is another matter, but the cost of sitting on arses letting the Mad Mullahs finally get nukes would eventually be far higher than what is being risked now.
Iran has now pissed off almost all its neighbours by firing rockets and drones at them. They have no air defences left, so anybody who wants to take out a bit of their infrastructure can do so.
