Gotta get this reference in!

The whole social contract of Dubai involves a wilful blindness to the proximity of suffering and violence. After all, Gaza is geographically close.

Ta Dah! See? Those bastard tax exile influencers in Dubai are close to Gaza and the Eeeevil Jooos! Let ’em burn!

It’s also 1,500 miles. The distance from London to Tunisia. Or London to Istanbul, London to Moscow….

You know, close by.

Does this mean all the Arabs in the ME that just get on with spending their oil wealth and largely ignore the Israel/Gaza situation are also Jew lovers and Gaza haters?

I do love the Guardian’s combination of smug internationalism and utter ignorance of anything outside the richer parts of north London.

For Heaven’s sake, the seething hatred from this lady. And ignorance too. Many of those in this mess were ordinary travellers from Australia and the east, so were just caught up in travel disruption.

Last time we came back from Oz we went via HK, which is almost on the great circle from SYD to LHR. However we are hoping to go again to visit friends, health willing, but I won’t go via HK again, nor the ME. KL, Taipei or Singapore look better staging points.

Quite an ironic article in many ways:

‘In conflicts, the masks come off. Recent weeks have revealed our lack of compassion for the suffering of Dubai expat influencers, a distaste with the origins of the Dubai project and perhaps our growing lack of trust in the act of influencing itself. It has also made vulnerable workers even more vulnerable. Those who keep Dubai propped up with cheap labour are the ones who can’t afford to flee.’

What this conflict has done is tear the mask off the Far Left, and what a picture it reveals:

  • Anti – semitism of a type that might have been considered fanatical by the Einsatzgruppen so deep does the hatred flow. Any ‘Hope not hate’ supporters are deeply ironic – almost medieval distrust of Jews runs through their entire outlook like bedrock
  • People utterly without principle willing to sell their soul to the devil in the pursuit of power. All the vacuous bluster about ‘The patriarchy’ ‘Trans genocide’ and other slogans have been exposed as pure hypocrisy given the cheering of Iranian regime’s ‘defiance’ alongside support for their ghastly proxies in Gaza and Lebanon. These are regimes that oppress women and murder LGBTQ people. But ‘hey, if they subscribe to the mantra ‘Orange Man’ bad they’re just dandy by me.’

As the late Peter Cook once said ‘Mote and Beam, sir’

Rod Liddle gives an example in his recent Speccie column of a lefty ‘friend’ who sends him some video of a chap spouting off about how the Holocaust is a hoax, and ‘revealing the truth’, in an attempt to get Rod onside with the Jew hate. It only turns out the speaker is Nick Griffin, of BNP fame, whose past is completely unknown to Rod’s pal. Someone spouting Jew hatred on social media? Got to be one of the good guys, right???

Standard commie bullshit.

revealed our lack of compassion for the suffering of Dubai expat influencers

Appeal to pity. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as ‘Dubai expat influencers.’ As Eldrick “Tiger” Woods said when asked why he didn’t get involved in such-and-such campaign, “I can’t cry for the world.”

Note the commies just complain. The obvious alternative is that Iran be allowed to get nukes and incinerate Tel Aviv. We should let Iran go cos Dubai expat influencers.

They don’t know what they don’t know, which is fine, but their arrogance in ignoring this is infuriating.

Take the pictures of a flattened Gaza which are being used by our traitor media to instil horror into soft Western hearts.

Hamas put control wire IEDs in virtually every building in Gaza, operator-detonated by blokes watching via fibre optic from the hundreds of miles of tunnels Hamas built with ‘aid money’ to store their weapons bought with ‘aid money’ and use for manoeuvre and ambushes etc.

It is impossible, while also fighting, to bring forward ATO (‘bomb disposal’ technicians) or robots to dispose of these devices individually – not least because you would run out of live ATOs or functioning robots very quickly.

Literally the only way to move forward is to detonate the devices as you go (or give up and go home) and this has the effect of destroying the buildings they’re in.

(It also has the added happy effect of closing off many – possibly thousands – of access points to the tunnels, which also need clearing and destroying, but that’s by the by.)

This is demonstrably true and very easy to understand, but I haven’t seen anything in the western mainstream media explaining it – just loads of those pictures.

Maybe there is bits of explanation, and I just haven’t seen it, but even if there is it’s outweighed a hundredfold by ‘oh my God have you seen the destruction the IDF is perpetrating in its genocidal war!!’ bollocks.

Thats very interesting. I’d never heard that. I’ve seen the pictures of Gaza looking like Berlin c. 1945, and wondered how exactly the Israelis had managed to do that (and why exactly as it would be a massive waste of munitions) without killing hundreds of thousands. Now it makes sense.

Pictures of Gaza looking like Berlin 1945 should be treated EXACTLY THE SAME as pictures of Berlin 1945. THE FUCKERS GOT IT! And people propagandising for Gaza should be treated exactly the same as people propagandising for Berlin 1945 – shot with no appeal.

Hamas are very good at propaganda, and they know exactly how to work with the MSM.

Hamas controls access to Gaza. Media don’t get in without them. And media want to get in because shots of bombed stuff sells. The media get taken where Hamas want to take them. If you want to go elsewhere, you can’t. And if you try, you won’t be let back in. If you reveal that this is basically propaganda and what you can’t see, you won’t be let back in.

It’s a lot like that thing of everyone in the papers not talking about Weinstein because he spent a lot of money on advertising movies with them.

The best media is people in the area taking photos on smartphones. I’m not saying it’s good, but there are photos of kids queueing up for food that are healthy. There’s photos of market stalls with food.

Hamas controls access to some bits of Gaza but you can visit the 50+% controlled by the IDF and, de facto, the US.

But yes, you’re not wrong about the media.

A mate of a mate of mine (so it’s at some remove) was recently part of a very small party invited by the above to view the tunnels; very few (I forget, but possibly zero) ‘mainstream news’ organisations attended, because their correspondents in Beirut and elsewhere were warned that if anyone from their organisations joined the tour, much less reported on it, they would be targeted for assassination.

The video of the Gaza City ‘Nutella’ store got ignored by the MSM for showing that far from Gaza being a total ruin, many of the people were going along quite nicely…

“The dreamworld part of Dubai was established both by the indentured workers who built the structures, but also social media. Influencers paid by the government told a story of the safest place on Earth, of seven-star luxury and endless parties.”

They still go to work there, though. No-one is being dragged in chains and called Toby. Is it the world of middle class philosopher novellists? No, but it’s better than whatever shit they have back home, or they wouldn’t keep doing it.

Crouch End is stuffed with daft ugly cows like this, in their silly “ethnic” clothes, scowling at their phones, manically two-hand typing whilst waddling about lacking situational awareness, and then scowling at you when they get in your fucking way.

Progressive Woman. Fortunately, few breed. You can see why.

I dunno, Norman. We need those women to have kids, just to stock the reserves. They won’t all stay woke – I’ve mentioned before that most of my mates in the village are lefties, and to a man (or boy) their teenage sons are very right wing.

We were in the pub the other day and the mum of one of them went in three breaths from telling me that she was very open-minded to telling her son that ‘if you vote for Nigel Farage you can leave our house’.

Very amusing.

When I first was in Crouch End it was bedsit-land & remarkably Paddy. My g/f of the time used to gig the Kings Head with her Judy Collins impersonations. There used to be a market in Park Road. But Hornsea College of Art & then the Drama School & it got colonised.
