Not that I can afford it of course

But this place is very tempting. Spent a couple of years of childhood living just to the left of that first picture. In the background there is Capri, that lake in the foreground is one of the entrances to Hell – Hades, rather – Lake Avernus. Just behind where the camera is standing is the Roman tunnel through to the Sybilline grotto at Cumae.

Not quite sure how much the desire is that it really is a damn fine house in a lovely place and how much is that call of childhood…..

now corrected…..

You can’t afford to start an international people smuggling ring?

I’ve always found with any place I’ve lived, after about a week one doesn’t notice the view. It just becomes part of the background. Remember the flat in Paris. Dead center looking out the main window was the Eiffel Tower about 2km away. If someone had stolen that in the night I would have found out by reading the papers.

Maybe, but what a place to go for a walk. There are a few little eating places around the shore and it’s just a little further to the bay area. I could cope. With worry beads.

Very nice. I don’t think I could fully relax there because of the geology, but that’s mostly irrational given the level of monitoring. Mostly. There look to be three properties along that stretch of hairpin. Was junior you in the middle or on the end?

According to wikithingie the lake and a good chunk of surrounding land was owned by the mafia at one stage until 2010 when the police seized it. Let’s hope they don’t want it back.

Not very developed at all, that whole lovely spot. I wonder if there are planning laws . . .

Sure it’s very carefully monitored but can you imagine 800,000 Neapolitans all trying to escape at the same time?

I’m not sure that tunnelling next to the entrance to hell is a good idea.

Is this the tunnel entrance near the lake? Seems to lead to the Cocceio Cave (https://pafleg.cultura.gov.it/it/4388/localit/71/grotta-di-cocceio).

God/Allah is an economist who understands trade-offs. How else to explain earthquake zones being so fertile.

A bit arty, like, but I’ve seen it twice and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wow, that’s pricey before you consider the local cash-only service charges. Future Schloss BiG likely to be at the opposite end of the country, the one without the service charges.
