This bird is complaining

I was sucked in by the money, but it wasn’t like I wanted a Lamborghini. I just wanted to be able to buy myself a house, buy my family a house, travel, and not worry. Within the first six weeks, I got a £3,000 pay cheque. I come from a low-income family where no one has come close to making that amount in just over a month. I thought: “This is the kind of money that’s going to change my life.” And that was just the start.
I was soon making between £10,000 and £15,000 a month on a regular basis. In my highest-earning month I made between £25,000 and £30,000.

Couple of years of tits oot fer the lads and she’s made for life. No, really, be able to buy a house off that and once you do own your own house – outright – at 21 or whatever then the rest of life is, financially at least, a bit of a breeze.

Now, yes, this is also a life course that might be regretted and so on. But to whinge that it was actually TikTok that forced you into it is rather cakeism, no? And that everyone else must have their ability to use social media restricted as a result is well over the top. Very female – I’m not giving the money back but I am complaining – too.

You’re a harsh bastard at times.

She did something, she realised later on that it was not a good thing, now she’s warning other girls not to do it. Is this a bad thing?

She is not ‘whingeing that TikTok forced her to do it’ on anything but the most ungenerous reading: she says she saw that TikTok was a way in, took the way in, and now regrets it.

The person who I want to hear my story is the girl who is thinking about signing up to OnlyFans. It’s all a lie. I might have been travelling the world and living in expensive houses, but I was so depressed and broken.

The shadow of the past three years will stretch far into my future. I want a husband someday, and I’ll have to tell him and, potentially, his family. I wanted to be a teacher, but now I can’t. I know I can’t really get any sort of proper job – I have a three-and-a-half-year gap on my CV, so I don’t know what I’d say to an employer. But I’m grateful I found the strength to shut down my OnlyFans page and delete my social media, in part due to finding a strong Christian faith through a friend who introduced me to prayer. I’m now seven months sober and slowly rebuilding my life and self-esteem.

Sort of thing we should be supporting, not attacking (in my view).

It doesn’t say she bought her own house. Let;s say she made £15k a month for two years. After tax, and the expenses (eg renting the ‘multi million pound house’ she says she was living in to project the necessary image), and just living (“I was spending money as fast as I was making it”), she’d be hard pressed to buy her own gaff anywhere you might want to live, and possibly just anywhere..

she says she saw that TikTok was a way in, took the way in, and now regrets it.

I went to university in 1987, promoted to me as a “way in”, spent three years kicking my heels wondering when I was going to actually get to do something, and now regret the waste of my life and the retardation of actually getting to do anything. I’ve never been able to get any sort of proper job. I have a three year gap on my CV. When do I get my payback? I didn’t even get thirty grand out of it.

Oh, I wrote it off long ago. I can’t go back in time and go to that polytechnic 30 minutes away I’d been accepted for instead of the university 16 hours away that I was pushed into. Or even just discover the job I should have been looking for wasn’t actually called what everybody had been telling me it was called. I’ve made a living from the “chores” work I was barely competant at, domestic electrical, plumbing, construction stuff which has knackered my body, never from the stuff I was good at and enjoyed doing.

Except you won’t. I’m sure there’ll be a few who are sensible enough but the girl in question seems to have spaffed her earnings on drugs and renting a flash gaff, not saving up to buy a 3 bed semi. And gone way beyond “tits oot”.

Assume £20k a month earnings for 3 years (and it’s probably less because they always exaggerate their earnings) and you get £720k. Lose half of that in tax and you’ve got £360k. Even less modest expenses that only leaves enough for a small house or flat in the provinces. And the expenses won’t be modest, they will be thousands each month on a flash rented pad, designer clobber, with the rest stuffed up her nose.

So she ends up exactly where she was three years ago, only with a gak habit and dozens of videos of her shoving things up her arse all over the internet, for every future boyfriend to see. I doubt Page 3 did Linda Lusardi’s dating prospects much harm, but do you want to settle down with someone who’s got a bunch of hardcore vids on Pornhub?

I do wonder about the tax affairs of such people – and whether advertising for all to read about how much money you made is necessarily a wise move.

A more than likely path is “get lots of money, spend lots of money, not appreciate that little of the spending is a taxable deduction, get hit with a tax bill, file for bankruptcy”.

Leaving you back where you started financially.

This is like a story heard over and over from women who do porn. They do a load of it, then after a few years, make a ton of cash, and as they age a bit and the money starts to dry up, they want to switch from whore to wife material. Denounce the industry, become Christians (a cute way to not accept that you made that choice and you’re now a different person).

“We are all responsible for our own salvation.” — GC

Typical woman. She made choices. After living out the choices, she is WARNING others to not make the same choices. She weighed her options, and made her choices. It is silly sophistry to say those choices can’t be right for someone else.

Wait . . .

But I’m grateful I found the strength to shut down my OnlyFans page and delete my social media, in part due to finding a strong Christian faith through a friend who introduced me to prayer.

Christianity just sounds like silly sophistry.

Overall, it looks like getting into porn production is a huge opportunity. Some who choose it may squander it. That does NOT make it a bad choice. Squandering it is a bad choice. Squandering it and them claiming it was a bad choice is creepy. This woman is just creepy.

30 years ago, normal English girls who weren’t sexually abused had no “history of porn use”, and would slap you for suggesting otherwise. But the Internet and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race:

I justified it to myself because, in the culture at large, porn is so normalised. I had my own history of porn use. Many music videos you see today would have been called soft pornography two decades ago. And even though my family disapproved, and said this wasn’t the path they wanted for me, they said they would never disown me.

“They said they would never disown me” – tolerance is a dangerous path that leads to your daughter showing her fanny to the Internet. Clearly, they didn’t “disapprove” of whoring enough. Should’ve sent her to a nunnery.

Porn is harmful to everyone involved:

there’s nothing empowering about spending all your time messaging hundreds of men aged 40 to 50, men who are old enough to be your father. You get messages from men who are telling you directly that they’re cheating on their wives and they’ve got two kids, and you never feel OK with that. You’ll get creepy men who say “you remind me of my daughter”. What’s empowering about that? It’s disgusting.

50 year old men with wives and children shouldn’t be wanking over paid videos of teenage harlots and telling them they look like their daughters. They should be walking over a copy of Razzle and then washing their hands whilst whistling the Dambusters theme and then getting back to the Tax Research blog.

Young women seem to be slow to learn the difference between sex and love. Women want and need love, and porn is the gaudy, painted, diseased opposite of love that seduces them with attention before they realise they’re getting paid because it’s attention they don’t want. It’s why “sex work” will never be a legitimate occupation despite being the oldest profession. Tart it up all you want, but it’ll never escape the “ick” factor of being a skeezy, nasty thing that caters to our basest of squirming human greeds. Like a pipe of Salt and Vinegar Pringles.

Isn’t that right, Bloke in Spain?

No, Steve. I’d say what someone out in the provincial suburbs who believes JC is looking over his shoulder thinks doesn’t much coincide with the real world. Reality is these things have always gone on & will continue to do so. The people involved don’t feel any guilt. Why should they? What I find remarkable is there seems to be rather less of them going on these days. Shortage of money? Or as Tim has suggested. Easy availability of pr0n has reduced the desire for the real thing? When I first came down here, there were hordes of Brit middle-aged, middle class men came here intending to exercise the ferret. Reliable source of income for some lucky girls. Conspicuous by their absence, these days. Prayer meetings been filling up?.

Over the decades, porn got a lot cheaper compared to strippers and hos.

Photography and filmmaking used to cost a lot of money. People were photographing naked women as far back as the 1850s, but just taking a shot, getting it developed, printed, and all the equipment was an expensive thing. Photography was a rich man’s hobby at the start.

It’s estimated that people paid $5 to see porn films in the early 1970s. Which is about $40 today. From what I understand, lapdances cost about $20 today. So, back in the 1970s, you could see live girls for about the same money as porn. Over time since then, creation and distribution have fallen in price, and porn is not even $5 today. And it’s easier to get porn now. Some bloke coming over to Spain can fire up his smartphone and see it.

Look at Soho. Back in the 1960s it was strippers and hos. Not porn. Paul Raymond started out running strip clubs. Larry Flynt started by selling flyers for strip clubs, which then turned into Hustler magazine. I remember going to a pub and being told they were having a couple of strippers coming in next week, in the back room. They’re as endangered as giant pandas now.

Well, here’s the thing: if girls have been raised in most any society (except for a very few), they DO feel guilt, and shame.

They may subsume that guilt – “I’m a Modern Woman!” – but it’s there, causing all sorts of psycho issues eventually.

Thousands of years of an overriding moral principle don’t just vanish.

“Well, here’s the thing: if girls have been raised in most any society (except for a very few), they DO feel guilt, and shame.”

You’re assuming that everyone is in the same place on the spectrum, with the same desires.

Women that want to have a family are incentivised towards monogamy. Being known as a bit of a slapper reduces your quality dating pool. The “walk of shame” for women is that they got drunk and shagged some random bloke, and their mind knows this is bad evolutionary behaviour the next day.

If you’re a woman with no desires to have a family, why not do some porn, some whoring, be a slapper? Lots of trailer trash girls want a family, so go work on the tills at a supermarket. But for the ones that don’t want a family, porn is probably a more rational choice.

There’s a woman who did porn because her husband walked out leaving her with a mortgage, 3 kids and few qualifications. What’s the downside to her doing porn in that situation? Is she going to easily find a new man to support her, with 3 existing kids? No, she isn’t. That’s an economically rational choice for her to improve the prospects of her offspring.

Like I think there’s partly an economic link between male gays and the arts. Arts pay badly and straight men need more money to attract women, so quit and get a better paid job.

Tbf the FA does a lot for young footballers, and top young prospects have injury insurance and financial advisors these days.

They get the red carpet, because they are the talent. Top players are massive value-adders, therefore they are valued.

The OF gels only get sold the illusion of being the talent. (Hence umpteen paid-for OF adverts masquerading as “news” over the years about tarts making infeasible sums of money on the platform.)

But they are not the talent. They’re commoditised flesh, in the eBay of flesh markets. The average earning per fanny shown might be 10p. The actual talent was convincing well off Western white women to show you their fanny for 10p, and he died a multi billionaire.

Well, yes. But in fields like sports and arts, kids are nudged towards them, spend years getting good at them and realise it’s massively oversaturated.

Yeah, OF is bad for this, but so is acting, writing, music and sport. There are endless numbers of people complaining about how they lose money touring. Like, fucking stop then. Look at how many millions of songs there are on Spotify. Unless you can beat ABBA, Chic, Led Zep or Marvin Gaye, go stack shelves. People keep recording new versions of Carmen, like there aren’t 20 already. It’s Landfill Opera.

I mean, I do wonder why there’s new porn. Porn’s been around since the 1970s. How many variations of housewives and plumbers can you do before it’s saturation?

Oh it was the Torygraph was it? Seemed more like Guardian fodder. Tim’s link actually takes you to the Instagram account of some soyboy “influencer”.
Look. Don’t get taken in by this crap. I know dozens of girls tried OF & none of them have made much out of it. Xica I was talking with at the weekend turned up at a Brasilian party we organised. She’s a Venezuelan – country produces some of the worlds most attractive women & she wasn’t short changed. She’s had thousands in work done on the bod. She’s real live walking, talking sextoy. She’s up for anything & has a long string of tame males would co-star for free. And more than a few girls. She’s the sort of girl should make money. Sorry, but few people are going to pay much for watching your next door neighbour’s daughter getting her “tits oot fer the lads”. They can see the real thing for the price of a cocktail. The VZ’s on OF, Instagram & several other sites. She’s still whoring for a living. Just back from Hamburg. As far as I know she owns what’s in her suitcase. She’s certainly never made much out “content providing”. If you divide the number of content providers OF claims into its published distributed revenue it’s under 100 bucks a month.
So the chance of this girl has done what she’s claimed approximate zero. Just looking at her, she’s non-starter. Why would anyone pay to look at her, whatever tricks she’s doing?
Of course the other way to monetise OF is to sell your “story” to gullible journalists. There’s plenty of them have done that. The “soyboy influencer” seemed to be doing something similar from what came up on a browser page. I even suspect OF would help you do it. Provide some lifestyle props for your supposed content. The stories are OF’s advertising. And she’s exactly the sort of girl-next-door look would sell that story My VZ wouldn’t because the mug’s not going to identify with her.
She wants to share her bank account records maybe she’d get some cred. But curiously she doesn’t seem to have accumulated any spoils does she?

Another example: Girl I’ve known for years. Colombian. Famous pr0nstar. Google her name & you’ll get endless links to her vids. She Whatsapp videocalled me in January from a train carriage lying on its side. The rail smash had a death toll of twenty odd. Turned up on my doorstep at 9:30 the next morning, battered & bloodstained. I had to lend her 200 to put some clothes on her & get her back on her way to Madrid. She’s given up the vids & the whoring & now does visiting cosmetics & nails. I socialise with both of these women. It’s fun. Walk into somewhere with either & you can hear the level of conversations briefly fade out. Just the sound of men’s chins hitting table to tops & women’s teeth grinding. At the right sort of does they get requests to take their photos for pub.. Refused because there is no offers to pay for them.
It’s the ongoing story of the sex industry. There’s hardly any money in it. A vast oversupply side & very limited demand. Anybody here will admit to paying to view on OF? Actually paying for pr0n? My main suspect would be someone like Spud. And frustrated Quakers with personality problems are even shorter supply

The problem with all media is Rockstar Economics. The best thing can be replicated millions of times. So, people will buy the best porn, novels, music, movies, sport. If you’re the best, like say, Pavarotti, almost everyone wants you. A few people will prefer Domingo and he does well. But the very top people get a huge share of the cake. If you’re not top 20 operatic tenors, you’re not making much money. The very top footballers earn 10s of millions, but if you’re playing for Swindon Town, you are making a living. Go down 2 more divisions and it’s a part-time thing. That’s 100 rich guys, a couple of hundred well off guys, about 1000 guys doing fine, and below that, not really a job.

So there are girls on OF making a colossal amount of money. They have teams working for them, acting as them, probably fat middle aged women in China, sending “personal” replies to horny blokes. But you don’t get far from the top before the money starts to collapse.

That’s why I said media. Dentistry isn’t media, isn’t scalable. It’s being able to repeat the thing many times that gets the value.

Fair enough. I find it interesting the number of people I know who make a good living in what might be called the technical support of the arts. Largely they are musicians, actors or other artistic types who never made it, but then became sound engineers, film editors, stage managers, etc. and do quite well. Pavarotti probably supports quite a retinue of people, some of whom may be quite decent signers, but not better than decent.

The technical side of the arts is better money, because the competition is for performers.

Lots of women want to dance Swan Lake. A lot fewer women want to be stage managers at the Royal Ballet. Ballerinas are crazy talented and committed, and they earn shit. Average pay for the Royal Ballet is £35K per year. In London. That’s the top ballet in the country. You wouldn’t get someone for £35K working as a call centre team leader for £35K in London.

I think it’s more complicated in fields like this. Success is being defined by how much money is being made. And success tends to sell the product. So there’s great incentives to exaggerate earnings.
I just saw the article as yet another attempt by OF to market itself. Quite a clever one. It’s been sold to the editor as a tale of degradation & remorse. Excellent copy sells newspapers. The target market will just look at the claimed earnings because they will “know” they’re not as stupid as this girl.
It’s like with the girls I know. I know how much they earn because one of the services I provide to them is financial advice. But I’m likely the only person who does. They define how successful they are by what they earn. What they charge their clients is supposed to be a refection of the demand for their services. Their standing in their world is defined by their success. So the incentives are to lie right down the line. The more money they say they make the more money they can make. Not helped by their tendency to lie to themselves. They remember the good times & conveniently forget the poor because that’s how they value themselves.
There’s a lot of fields like this. Social media “influencers”. definitely. Think of Spud. He has to be “influential” to be influential. So he keeps pumping out YouTube vids to show he’s “influential”. A lot of the entertainment industry’s the same. It’s why Rockstar Economics works the way it does. The feedback loop gets tighter & tighter the closer to the top. You only find out the truth when it all collapses. The supposed multi-millionaire goes bankrupt.

There’s certainly some truth to that too, yes. Katie Price has been bankrupted twice in less than a decade. She has this ridiculous lifestyle, including 8 cars. Ferrari, Range Rover, Porsche, BMW, VW Beatle were taken in bankruptcy case.

Even if I got rich, I wouldn’t own 8 cars. I’d own 2. A regular car, a sports car. Something to generally go places, and something to thrash around country lanes. Owning a Porsche AND a Ferrari is pointless and just more shit to manage.

But if you’re wired for showing off your shit, this looks like success.

What it doesn’t ever tell you is how much someone is really worth. The Range Rover, Michelin dining and holidays to the Far East don’t tell you how many years are left on the mortgage, or the state of their pension. Bill Gates in line for $4 burgers.
