Not only valuable but also very easy to spot as that roof terrace would need to be 3000-3500m high.
Need to be a lot higher than that. The Med ends at Tarifa. The Portuguese frontier & the Algarve’s about three hour’s drive away. As the seagull flies, about 250 km with some 1000m high ground in between. You might get a glimpse of it from LEO.
Yep it would need to be a little taller, though way less than LEO (160,000m).
The maths shows a roof terrace 4360m over the summit of Mt Pelados would be needed. As that’s five times the height of the Burj Khalifa it would be quite a well known landmark. The line of sight from there “should” give you a view of the Straits of Gibralter as it’s 2 degrees declination and 90% above water so other high ground does not get in the way. That would give you a “view” of the Straits of Gibralter in exceptional conditions. Sadly at that distance the “Med” wouldn’t look turquoise, not that it would matter as the rest of the view would be magnificent.

I’d say he just was in the business of supplying products there was a demand for. “Right minded people” tried to nail him for ‘living off immoral earnings of prostitutes’ which failed on appeal. Not surprisingly, because you can’t economically do that.
Now that was a surprise. In the 80s there was sex shop in Upton Lane which is effectively the same road as his factory. Just the other side of the lights. I always presumed it something to do with him. I just looked at Streetview & it’s still there. Now calls itself Pirate – adult store. Of all shops in that street it must be the only one unchanged in close to 50 years. None of the others I recognise. Which does seem to indicate that he did actually do things that there’s a demand for. So what’s the problem?
