A 37-storey skyscraper in the centre of New York City is shifting and at risk of collapse.

Pfizer’s former headquarters in Midtown Manhattan and its surrounding streets were evacuated on Tuesday, amid fears the building would fall and crush nearby buildings.

Hundreds of police cars and ambulances were outside the “collapse zone”.

A police official told The Telegraph there is a “high chance” the building could fall into the street.

All without burning jet fuel, the addition of an airplane or a bomb planted in a false flag operation.

Heh. I made similar jokes when sharing this story earlier.

My money is on thermite. Planted by black ops in the dark of night.

The building is home to Al Capone’s vault and they don’t want anyone to find out what’s in it. You pretty much have to be an American of a certain age to get that reference.

Bollocks, that’s on the moon just round the corner from the gaff that Elvis and OBL share (inside a double-decker).

It’s ironic that an erection in danger of collapse was formerly home to Pfizer, who created Viagra.

I was thinking effects of Long Covid, or side effects of Pfizer jab, but Chris wins.

“The cause of the beams’ collapse is currently unknown.”

Hmm…

“The tilting glass building … is being converted into 1,600 apartments, with an additional four floors added to the tallest section and 19 floors added to the neighbouring tower.”

With no additional steel supports.

Word on the news here they dug where they shouldn’t have, making one of the columns slip, which of course….

They may as well mount some detcord in some places and make it a controlled collapse.
Everything in that building is now out of whack, or stretched well beyond design stresses. It’s a Total Loss and cheaper to rebuild.

They delved too greedily and too deep.

Look for drumming and a balrog soon I guess.

Not quite … “a Balrog, and I am already weary”
Also, one would be far cheaper than the “Low-cost cremation” that someone keeps trying to sell me on the assumption that I am expecting to die sometime this year.

The officer’s words or the journalist’s?

High chance of could is gibberish.

Pity about the ‘former”.

The classic skyscrapers on Manhattan seem to have lasted very well. Obviously being built by chaps who like to eat their sandwiches perched on a beam dangling from a crane is a recipe for longevity.

The crusts were mixed in with the concrete.

It seems that the steel beams are the problem in the dodgy building. Maybe any crust that an Iroquis could not chew were tough enough to support the top floors of a skyscraper?

Perhaps after it is demolished, they’ll turn the site into a Clover field.
