Abolish the family!

Every period, right on schedule: the cramps arrive, and right behind them, the urgent need to poop.

If this is your experience, you’re in good company: in one study, 73% of healthy premenopausal women reported at least one significant gastrointestinal symptom in the days before or during their period. Abdominal pain and diarrhea were the most common complaints, but women reported nausea and constipation too.

Menstrual and digestive discomfort often coincide: “If you ask women about ‘period poops’ they’ll tell you they’re having menstrual cramps and those GI cramps at the same time,” said Taylor Judkins, a nutrition researcher at the University of Florida who has spent more than a decade studying the phenomenon.

I assume this is the sort of thing mothers would tell daughters about along the way in previous times. But The Guardian now stands in loco etc, no? Or at least, for some, the wimmins’ pages do…..

I’m sure it wont be long before the first cock-in-a-frock claims the same symptoms, if one hasn’t already.

I thought male/female was a social construct? Y’know, no difference at all?

Poop

Why the Yankism? The Terriblegraph is also full of American English. Although my free trial runs out today, so I no longer have to suffer the drivel in that useless rag.

Still got five months of Gove’s Tory Propaganda Rag (FKA The Spectator) to go…

Poo and poop are words that make my teeth itch. Childish terms.
Perhaps they’re too frightened/posh to say shit?
And, what’s wrong with defecate? Excrete?

  1. Women are the majority.
  2. In our system a majority can in theory do whatever it wants.
  3. All they need to do is agree what they want.

Didn’t you hear? They arranged a secret meeting for all women to discuss how they will use their majority to stuff the patriarchy once and for all. Nobody turned up. The organisers were mystified. After all, they had sent out maps..

I don’t understand, I thought all women were awesome at all times. Now you say they are impossible to deal with once a month?

With menstrual problems it is 2 weeks pre and 2 weeks post that the wimminz are impossible to deal with.

Let’s also not forget the awful, debilitating condition of Luteal Ugliness.

No, me neither.

Guardian has become chronicles of ladies’ parlor talk.

So all those horrible Patriarchs who said women would be no good for the world of work because they couldn’t cope with it during their time of the month were right then?

No, only 73% cannot cope.
So if you employ 4 women with different times of the month you’ll get the equivalent of one man.
At least that is what the Grauniad claims.
I’ve worked with a fair number of women at different times over the last 60+ years – only one of them was a major problem so my experience of reality differs from the claims of the Grauniad.

Mothers probably spent most of their life on birth control and the daughters have spent most of their life on it – probably not a lot of period knowledge among the ladies nowadays.
