Human rights lawyers make relatively little, because their clients are generally non-profits etc. Corporate, tax, and intellectual property lawyers make much higher average salaries.

My daughter is a City corporate lawyer. She says fee income by human rights lawyers is tiny by comparison with lawyers specialising in tax, commercial and IP. Clients like the Saudis, airlines, Google etc have far deeper pockets than NGOs or N-Ps.

I feel we’re close to the Stalingrad moment of UK politics, of a shift in the establishment.
We got a “liberal” establishment that followed from the “rights” era. Blacks, gays, women. And that was good. And it led to the public generally trusting them and not trusting the likes of Nick Griffin, which is how he got prosecuted for telling the truth. And not realising that the establishment had been overrun by nutters.

I fail to see how the “rapaciously greedy super-rich” are knackering the country up, in that they generally have become ‘obscenely wealthy’ by inventing or providing something that is wanted or desired by the public-at-large (OK, by inheritance as well, but that’s mainly inheritance from earlier generations who invented or provided something…) there are very few ‘grand families’ in the rich-list nowadays.
Whereas, according to The Grauniad, massive influxes of barbaric, illiterate goat-herders are a positive and productive boon to society.
