To have introduced such economically demented measures simply for political expediency is totally unforgivable.
But that’s why political control of an economy is such a bad idea. Because things economically demented will be imposed for political reasons.
BTW, that’s Nigel talking about Jeremy Hunt.
Is that the same Jeremy Hunt who, during the last general election campaign suddenly discovered that he thought inheritance tax was unconservative?
By George, I think it is.
“economically demented measures simply for political expediency”
I think you’ll find that is a fair summary of Labour’s entire policy agenda.
Removing millions of people (foreigners, esp. muslims) from the economy (country) might be regarded as an economically demented measure introduced for simple political expediency (national survival). But I’d still like it done, thanks.
And this is why I don’t think Nigel is remotely right for the job.
It would be a bit less hypocritical if Nigel hadn’t called for nationalisation of the failing steel industry.
Only government could go out there and lose money on what it nicks. Not even an actual robber would do that to Scunthorpe.
