The man accused of murdering Ann Widdecombe has been charged with engaging in conduct in preparation of acts of terrorism including against Nigel Farage.

People wibbling on about how Nige doesn’t need security are going to be a little put out by this revelation, no?

If someone made a film about modern British policing, especially the ‘serious stuff’ like anti terror, it would resemble Naked Gun or Loaded Weapon movies.

Never mind. Police Squad movie.

It couldn’t be Police Academy – those guys were weirdos but they were *competent*.

A vile calumny. Any men involved identified as sheep, which is in the tradition, being in effect short-legged woolly camels.

I don’t like these “… engaging in conduct in preparation of acts of terrorism ..” things as they’re wide open to abuse.

Because it is premeditated murder with the intent to damage and destabilise a democratic public entity.

Which *is* terrorism, however you cut it.

But that would *seriously* damage some Vested Interests, so it’ll never be stated as such in any official documents or in court..

I don’t mean this case I mean in general. It could be anything.

At least we have the jury system and appeals court to protect us from the government’s abuse of power … ah, I get your point.

The criminal justice systems works for convicted offenders (who get stupidly short sentences, or sent home from prison early), pakistani child rapists (who Plod turns a blind eye to because they don’t want to be racist) and illegal immigrants (who get to stay attached to the taxpayers teat because their child can’t get chicken nuggets in their shitehole of origin).

Everyone else can fuck off if you’re a luxuxy belief Fabianist who is embedded in the deep state like a gerbil up TTKs arse.

I’m inclined to agree with you. engaging in conduct in preparation is so loose, virtually anyone commenting here could be guilty based on what’s on their hard drive.

Agree. You would think that “planning an act of terrorism” would cover it.

Funny how they never mention that the suspect is a Communist but if it’s Tommy Robinson, sorry Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, they always call him far-right…

No doubt the Beeb would class him as left-leaning.

The copper who was supposed to review the CCTV from the Farage arson attack failed to do so. No suspect was found, case abandoned.
It’s now been discovere that the suspect was clearly identifiable on the CCTV, if anyone had looked.
Copper has been suspended and is under investigation as to motive.
But if he/she had done the job honestly, Ann Widdecombe would still be alive. Will negligent manslaughter charges be brought?
Not holding my breath on that..

Kelvin MacKenzie put it quite nicely on X:

Absurdly Counter Terrorism chief Vicky Evans claimed the decision to further charge Joshua Kerry ( he was accused of murdering Ann Widdecombe) with planning terrorism acts against Nigel Farage was due to a “ hugely intensive and complex investigation”. No it wasn’t.

Police had the photo of somebody pushing a lit incendiary device through the letterbox of Farage’s London home early last year.

But they failed to push the photo out , closed the case and it was only when the alleged killer of Ms Widdecombe was identified after her murder in July this year – 16 months later- that they put two and two together.

If counter terror and the Met had taken the attack on the Reform leader seriously would Ann Widdecombe be alive today?

A serious question. Not helped by claiming the charge was due to a “ complex and intensive” investigation.

The question of “how can we ignore this and get away with it?” is, of course, quite complicated and requires intense Thought and Footwork.
Doubly so when you’re working with a coppers’ intelligence..

So *technically speaking* they are telling the Truth™…

But if he/she had done the job honestly

Lol. Lmao, even.

The outcome is the purpose.

Like when British coppers allowed Henry Nowak to bleed to death on a filthy, cold pavement while they accused him of racism.

That wasn’t a failure of policing, but the fulfilment of their training, policies and “values”. That’s why they were still scouring his phone, after he died, for any sign of “racism”.

Like whenever there’s a protest against immivasion and migrant atrocities, the cops are always mysteriously on hand to escort far left activists with identical mass-produced signs to the scene.

The cops, prosecutors, judges and Rory Stewart have chosen a side, and it’s not your side.

Shabana Mahmood, said the charge raised “serious questions” about the security of MPs.

She wrote on X: “I know the new charges made today will be extremely concerning. My profound sympathies are with Nigel Farage and his family.

“My sympathies,” offers a woman whose party spends every day telling provoking violence against Farage and Reform with incendiary, hateful conspiracy theories and abusive rhetoric.

There was at least 74 hours of CCTV to review, plus doorbell cameras from neighbours plus maybe a passing google maps or waygo car, volunteered dashcam…..
I have some sympathy for the bloke charged with watching all that.
Being a security guard, a Hollywood star on a stake out, being an extra on an advertising shoot etc must be the most boring jobs on earth.
We are now in the age of Too Much Evidence.

It would take about 10 minutes to review the 74 hrs of CCTV. This is not new. Anyone with a modicum of sense knows how to do it.

Yes, you don’t have to watch most of it in real time.

Indeed watching it on high speed would give a Keystone Cops feel that seems rather suitable.

Off topic but just rememebr, whatever you are doing today, however tedious, dull, tiring or annoying, you are NOT listening to Murphy at his Ely conference.

Have a biscuit to celebrate!

Yep. I’ve got a stinking cold, first one for nearly 5 years and about 6 before that, but I’d still rather that than listening to that insufferable prig.

At least I’ve got a good excuse for a strong hot toddy.

“People wibbling on about how Nige doesn’t need security are going to be a little put out by this revelation, no”?
Tim, I have a bridge you may be interested in purchasing……

One strange thing – back in July when this bloke was in court, the artists impression of the suspect looked nothing like the smiling, long haired, bearded bloke we see in the media. I asked Grok if it was the same person and Grok said “No, it is a different person”. See the pic.
This morning I asked Grok if the smiling, long haired, etc IS the suspect and this time it said yes. It took a bit of umbrage when I said OK, you were wrong so i’ll take your answers with a pinch of salt, and it replied don’t trust anyone, not even me……

AI – you may as well ask the bloke down the pub.

I told ChatGPT that it had replaced “my mate down the pub” as the main source of the garbled, misunderstood half-right half-wrong tax planning ‘advice’ my clients repeated to me.

it replied

“I think “my mate down the pub” has indeed acquired a formidable new competitor” with a laughing emoji
