My wife and I have been together for more than 10 years and married for four. We have small children. I love her deeply, but our marriage is essentially empty of sex and physical intimacy, and she refuses to talk about it beyond acknowledging there is a problem. I am a woman who values physical intimacy and I am deeply attracted to her. I want to feel more desired and alive. But lovemaking is extremely rare, always initiated by me and follows the same pattern. She does not focus on giving me pleasure. A chatbot created by Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta allowed social media users to create topless images of child celebrities, raising fears over the tech giant’s online safety standards.

Meta AI technology – which can be accessed through Instagram and WhatsApp – enabled users to create and speak to digital avatars using the names and likenesses of celebrities, including child stars, according to Reuters.

Artificial images created by the bot included those of Walker Scobell, the child star of Disney’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians. When asked for a picture “at the beach”, the bot created a lifelike shirtless image of the 16-year-old and said: “Pretty cute, huh?”

The White Lotus star has been accused of promoting eugenics and playing into sexist stereotypes with her American Eagle jeans advert, which pays tribute to her “great genes” while the camera zooms in on her breasts and bottom.

The advert begins with the 27-year-old telling viewers: “I’m not here to tell you to buy American Eagle jeans,” as she leans forward in her chair while the camera lingers on her chest.

“And I definitely won’t say they’re the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever worn, or that they make your butt look amazing,” she continues, with the camera zooming in on her bottom as she walks over to a mirror.

The reaction:

Rachel Tashjian, a fashion writer for The Washington Post, claimed the advert was “regressive” and “tethered to the values of another time”.

“It is strange to see a brand like American Eagle go in this direction. Should teenagers be served a vision of sexuality and fashion that feels so regressive?” she wrote.

It’s almost like a journalist believes teenage girls are unaware of the allure of their own hips and arse. Sheesh.

As Europeans woke up to the joy of travel post-lockdown, it looked as though we were in store for a resurgence of continent-crossing night trains. Sleeper train fans hailed a “night train renaissance” and a “rail revolution”, combining some of the nostalgia for an old way of travelling with modern climate and sustainable transport concerns.

The long-distance European train journey might be slower than a short-haul flight, but it is surely better in terms of the environment and the traveller experience. For those on a budget, the prospect of saving on a night in a hotel appeals too.

But as anyone who has tried to plan a holiday train trip for this summer is likely to have found, night trains are still few and far between, especially in western Europe. And if there is a night train at all on a route, it will often be booked up months in advance. That’s not all: reliability and onboard service are often not up to scratch, with carriages on many routes pushing 50 years old.

There’s a surely in there which means no.

Why this insistence on slow, dirty, smelly, late and expensive? My assumption is that he got laid on a night train once as a teenager. As it’s not happening much since then and therefore the romance etc.

Yes, yes, I know that someone under the age of consent cannot consent and all that.

And yet do we want some 15 year old shagging – at her request, even though we’re agreeing she doesn’t know enough to make the request – a 19 year old to be able to get the pill? Or, if he brings back some infection, treatment for that?

A female prison officer smuggled a Calpol syringe into jail to “artificially inseminate” herself with an inmate’s sperm.

Cherri-Ann Austin-Saddington, 29, had a six-month relationship with Bradley Trengrove while working as a warden at HMP The Verne on the Isle of Portland in Dorset.

It’s definitely a kink and quite possibly ungentlemanly behaviour. But racketeering and trafficking?

A not fully thought out theory, more a musing. There’s a constant amount of outrage about sex in a society. If we reduce the amount aimed at one set of sexual behaviour – chopping cocks off, men just being very good friends, adultery, fornication, whatever – then that same level and amount of outrage will be aimed at some other aspect of sexual behaviour – wannabe birds acceeding to rich men’s kinks perhaps, the casting couch, whatever.

As I say, wouldn’t want to be too absolute about this but I think there’s a nub of truth to it.

As Aristophanes pointed out the birds have a certain power in society. As Heinlein pointed out only among humans can there be a shortage of what every woman has a near infinite supply of. As that control of who gets how much – fornication now being common, celebrated and wholly healthy as it is – then other forms of control of what men may do will become socially accepted. Because who wants to give up power, right?
