If not for the fact that the police don’t appear to care about anti social behaviour anymore, I’d just assume what’s driving this is that the idle bastards want a quiet life…

It’s been happening at least since the late 60’s according to the documentary Withnail and I.
“We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now.”
“We’ve gone on holiday by mistake.”
“What fucker said that?”

As one of the people in the article notes, Bowness has been a tourist destination since Victorian times, so it’s a bit rich to moan now. Also, this pub is replacing a guest house, so is reducing the capacity for tourists, so what are they moaning about?

I don’t think people need to tolerate anti-social behaviour, but unless Bowness has 20 pubs now that it didn’t 5 years ago, then they are not the problem.

I was in Bowness last year and was ‘impressed’ by the numbers of the religion of peace. They won’t be troubling the pubs and I guess the most anti-social part of their behaviour is not spending enough.

I have no plans to return to Bowness.

(On thursday I went to that London on the train. No rush to return there either or go on another train.)

When I lived on the coastal edge of the Lake District,I rarely ventured into Bowness because of the pressure of the numbers of people. It was difficult to walk through and as for driving through during the daytime, forget it. It is not a particularly lovely place anyway.

Actually, it’s not too bad in the autumn once the hordes have left. Replaced by some lovely colours…

The whole idea is you don’t travel unless you are part of the Nomenklatura – It’s the Metaverse for everyone else! Both the UN and WEF are pretty explicit on this
