Speaking as a Mech Eng graduate (a very undistinguished one!), the uncapping of tuition fees would assist engineering graduates in particular, who leave for other professions with higher pay in great numbers. The higher tuition fees for necessary to pay for the vastly greater teaching load in engineering courses would push engineering employers into raising their wages…which in turn would raise the profile of engineering graduates generally, which is low because of their comparatively low wages
