We know that he doesn’t get on all that well with others. And two of Corbyn’s new economic team are at City University. And Ritchie isn’t on the team.
I can see that common room getting very interesting very quickly….

Oh to be a fly on the wall in that SCR! How will our 20% of a professor cope? He who was “well aware” that a government ministers were referring to the Sage of Downham Market as ‘the Rt Hon Lord Murphy’.

Ritchie’s name is not there – does this mean he is going for a full time advisory role?
Theo: He who was “well aware” that a government ministers were referring to the Sage of Downham Market as ‘the Rt Hon Lord Murphy’.
Is that cos Osbourne will ennoble him when his economic advice loses Labour the next two elections?
Also- I do detect a distancing by Labour of Murph. Nothing to do with his grant status, nor Murph’s wishes, but Corb appears to be sidling away from the Loon.
Finally: murph plus two of Corbo”s advisers in City’s economics faculty? What a hive of genius that dept must be.

But only on Mondays.

I have been wondering to myself which will distance themselves from whom, and when. It is pretty much inevitable that it will happen.
Andy K,
I suspect Labour have seen the way the guy handles the press, done a bit of research on his theories (now they’ve got a bit of thinking space and a few more hands on the deck) and have scrawled “Liability” all over his file.
It wouldn’t surprise if Murph knew this- I think he’d be happy to become disinvolved at this point. I think he’d take the new higher profile he has now and when Labour’s economic policy falls apart under investigation he can claim they did something wrong and if they’d only listened to him it’d have worked perfectly.
The only things Leftists can build successfully is mythology.
His continued claims to be the sole author and creator of ideas and concepts is certainly going to lead to trouble in a more academic forum than he usually operates in
He can always dust off his “Green QE” balls when it all goes tits up for him.
More than one iron in the fire. Plus his upcoming blockbuster “The Joy of Tax”, released just in time for Christmas.
Don’t forget the Fair Tax Mark.

“The composition of the panel probably also tells us that the ultra formulation of “quantitative easing for people not banks” – till now seen as the quintessence of Corbynomics – is dead.”
