Unlike Google, Meta, Apple and Amazon, which are publicly traded, X is owned solely by Mr. Musk. E.U. regulators are considering using a piece of the law that lets them calculate a fine based on revenue that also includes other companies Mr. Musk privately controls, like his rocket maker, SpaceX. That increases the potential penalty to well over $1 billion, one person said.
Complete, abject, tossers. There’s a point to corporate personhood, a reason for it.
What I got from the article is that the EU wants to fine Musk ….gaziiiilions… because X does not want to deploy the censorship the EU wants.
Good luck with that… By all means, make yourself a target for some extreme ridicule.
I might actually revive my X account just for that purpose, and to see what Musk himself has to say about that, if at all…
Good luck collecting it.
You’d think the E.U. had enough problems on its plate: tariff wars with Trump, Ukraine/Russia, the German economy tanking and taking the EU with it, the rise in the dreaded right wing parties, immigration causing mayhem, to name a few; without picking a fight with a guy who will obviously be up for it and have the US government and the tech Bros behind him.
The EU, not at all like Russia, where the legal system is weaponised against the enemies of the ruling clique………..
so if Trump wasn’t right before, now he is…
BIND you forgot China – the EU has got them in its sights too China
As the EU army coalition of the willing peacekeeping force mobilises to fight in Ukraine they will depend on Starlink.
prop: one Elon Musk.
To send their satellites into space they will depend on SpaceX
Prop: one Elon Musk.
Do these people think at all?
Yeah, I’d definitely try to ambush and rob Trump’s best friend.
This’ll end well.
Every day vindicates JD Vance in a new way.
@ philip
I fear the answer is “Yes”: Putin has a goodly (that should be “badly”) number of “sleepers” in the EU bureaucracy, recruited by his colleagues while he was a srving KGB officer.
