This has been one of the key successes of British ultra-conservatives – the question of race can confidently be undermined in the public sphere.
Britain has ultraconservatives?
If you’re the inhouse race grifter for The Guardian, perhaps so. No one else manages to spot them.
“The old one-nation Tories still bought into a liberal consensus – that there was such a thing as systemic disadvantage against racial minorities, and this was reflected across key areas of policy, from health to justice to education.“
And where did it get them? Ever more tightly bound into what the activists considered was ‘racist’ to the point that the epithet has now completely lost it ‘s cachet and power to silence.
Thing is, there is such a thing as systemic disadvantage against racial minorities. It can be found everywhere on earth throughout history. It’s a survival mechanism. It’ was perhaps unusual in the modern age for a middle-class educated white male to be on the receiving end of it but I most certainly have been, before “equalities” legislation more generally defined me as a person to discriminate against.
if so, then One Nation Tories really are exactly the sort of worthless cunts I always took them for.
…because within the public sphere the question of racism has been rigged for quite some time and the rules around who gets to say what about race in Britain have been rewritten.
Whitey needs to shut up about all the raping, looting and murdering we do!
There was some recognition of reality, and some level of consensus that Britain must work better for Black people and other minorities.
Lol. Their own countries are dysfunctional shitholes so apparently we have to change Britain to serve their interests and not ours.
In conclusion, Jason Okundaye (great British name BTW!), you can do one….
What’s the “question” of race and how is it being “undermined”?
“Where’s da white women at?” – Richard Pryor, Blazing Saddles
Cleavon Little, I think.
Richard Pryor wrote it
Cleavon Little, actually.
How do you “undermine” a question? Is the article a bad translation from some exotic tongue?
I didn’t believe they were coming here to take our jobs and our women. But then I saw every bloody tv advert since 2000..
As Leonarda Jonie said, “They’re black! They’re not coming for your jobs!”
Where does ultra-conservative fit in the Tory, conservative, right wing, Nazi . . . hierarchy?
WTF does that even mean? Actually I know what it means, because it’s always the same: shut up and gimme your stuff.
