About drilling for gas in the Wadden Sea:
“We’ve been confronted with the ‘not in my back yard’ argument – that everyone wants gas but nobody wants to be affected by it,” said Akkermann. “But I always say: this isn’t just any back yard.”
Yeah, everyone’s a hypocrite ‘cept me.
Sure.
LOL at the Jerries.
Trump told you this would happen and you just laughed at him.
I checked the article – no map, so it doesn’t exist.
What is it about the Grun and their lack of telling readers such basic facts. Do they just assume that everybody knows where everything is, or do they realise how historically crap they have been in map references that they just gave up? Too many maps of Middlesbrough labelled in Tyneside.
There is a small gas drilling installation a couple of miles from my village. There are lots of idiots with gas meters outside their houses and anti gas drilling posters on their fences. They seemed to think that the whole area was going to end up looking like Stockton On Tees. Instead there is a little fenced in compound with some portacabins and some bits of metal plumbing sticking out of the ground.
“It’s been seen as a punch in the face,” said Jürgen Akkermann, the island’s independent mayor, who is working on the geothermal energy plans. “You’re taking care of it, you’re engaged – and then you get a gas platform shoved in front of your nose.”
I recommend his constituents sweep his legs, straddle him, and keep punching his face until he stops gurgling.
