Good. I think.

James Comey, the former FBI director and one of Donald Trump’s most frequent targets, was indicted on Thursday on one count of making a false statement to Congress and one count of obstruction of a congressional proceeding, the latest move in the president’s retribution campaign against his political adversaries.

The indictment, filed in federal district court in Alexandria, Virginia, shows Comey’s charges centred on whether he lied and misled lawmakers during testimony in September 2020 about the Russia investigation.

Obviously, there’s a danger in prosecuting your predecessor. At some point someone’s going to say bugger that and they’ll not allow a successor to take office to prosecute them.

On the other hand this goes back to the Steel dossier, piss tape and Russia running intereference for Trump, right? And someone simply does have to get prosecuted for that shit. For that too is all political games well beyond what we want in anything like a democracy.

So, well, maybe then, eh?

Pretty funny if they nab Hillary too.
I guess Barry O’Barmy has immunity ?

But the Deep State has to be taken down. The FBI, DoJ and CIA are the low hanging fruits because they document everything.

Al Beeb mentioned the indictment relating to ‘Russian interference in the 2016 election’.

That there was found to be have been no Russian interference in the election was omitted for some unknown reason.

He may be prosecuted, but he won’t be convicted. The trial will be in Washington. They could have him bang to rights on camera saying ‘I lied to Congress’ and he’d still get acquitted. There was some lower bag carrier type who was prosecuted for something over the Hillary emails/Russiagate stuff and he was acquitted despite conclusive proof he did what they said he did. Democrats have de facto immunity in Washington, because they can never be actually convicted because the juries are 99% Democrat crazies.

Indicted in Virginia, not DC. I’m not up on the details, but wouldn’t the trial also be there?

In Alexandria, which is part of the Washington conurbation. Its nominally in Virginia, but for all intents and purposes its DC. Certainly in the terms of the political alignment of the pool of potential jurors.

Persecution would be a separate charge for every lie he told. This happens when they want a plea bargain.

Instead there’s one exemplar charge. Both the lie, and the obstruction caused by that lie.

Good luck getting a DC jury to convict an enemy of Trump’s.

It’s a good start but he needs to start arresting judges too.

The indictment followed Trump’s instruction to Bondi to “move now” to prosecute Comey and other officials he considers political foes, trampling on the justice department’s tradition of independence.

Trump has won massive defamation lawsuits for bullshit just like this. Guardian just stepped on their own dick.
