Just a question here

It’s one outrage in days full of outrageous material.

“Quiet, piggy,” Donald Trump told a female reporter in a press gaggle, pointing his finger at her angrily.

It wasn’t the first time – not even the hundredth time – the US president has attacked the media. And it’s hard for any storyline to break through the administration’s “flood the zone” strategy, much less one like this. Nothing seems to stick. But the “quiet, piggy” clip has taken off, several days after the admonishment occurred on Air Force One last Friday, and without much help from the media itself.
….The anger he displayed in the clip could be a sign of someone on the back foot, overreacting to a question Bloomberg correspondent Catherine Lucey was asking

Anyone asked whether Ms. Lucey’s nickname is, in fact, “Piggy?”

Isn’t this just to reinforce the TDS on their own side? Nobody is still making their minds up on Trump. Nobody is changing sides over this aspect of his behaviour.

Was the reporter interrupting? Is she that thin-skinned?

Both.
And she kept harping on after he *clearly* indicated she’d had her chance, and a full answer, and started to answer another question on Venezuela.
Easy to see in the *full* clip about it..

I’d have told her to shut her trap as well…

if it wasn’t before I’ll bet it it is now, at least behind her back.

A comment made to one reporter is not ‘an attack on the media’

Also with the high background noise piggy is not the only word that fits the available sounds.
He might have said begin
Someone should clean it up, some media org with the tools. If they did so it would remove the doubt. Wierd they havent eh?

She was rude. He’d spent some considerable time answering her question, moved onto the next and she butted in.

“The combined force of two outbursts at female journalists in a single news cycle – for asking about a child sexual abuser and a murdered colleague – went beyond the standard-fare Trumpian attacks on the media.”

Would anyone mention sex if it was directed to a man? I thought women could do these jobs just as well as men.

They can – just not when the victim bites back.

Women are the eternal Schodinger’s Cats: at any given point they are both the superior sex and the victim of the Patriarchy, all it takes to collapse this duality into one or the other state is a situation determining which gives a woman the most advantage. The state of duality returns once the benefit of being solely one or the other has passed.

Why would he attack the noble media? Snot like they’ve ever done anything to him.

Is any trade as fiercely defensive against any perceived slights as journalists are?

A few years Trump was doing a presser. He wasn’t being as critical of Putin as a journalist wanted him to be. The reporter kept saying, ‘But he kills journalists’, again and again, regardless of what Trump said. I really, really wanted Trump to respond, ‘You say that like it’s a bad thing.’ That would have put among the pigeons.

In the finest tradition of whataboutism, be it remembered that the human vegetable who previously held the office, when annoyed by a question he did not like, was in the habit of referring to his interlocutor as “fat”. Multiple recordings exist of him doing this. Mind you, I suppose we should not judge too harshly the words used by a man already in the grip if dementia.

Journalists like dishing it out: who could have guessed that they can’t take it? Oh those easily bruised sensitivities!

Has a journolist instruction gone out? This is the third “Trump on back foot” story I’ve read, and I haven’t been reading much today.

Republicans need to be taking serious action in anything resembling a swing district to prevent voting shenanigans such as were recently seen in the New Jersey gubernatorial race where a truly astonishing Democrat turnout was reminiscent of Biden’s 81 million dead or alive votes.

And yet nothing is being done. Anyone would think the party establishment want to lose control of Congress in 2026.

How queer.
