And all of this does, at least in part, fly in the face of what many seem to want. Look at the stories about Leicester City: one of the things that appeals to many about their success is that it has not been unduly bought. This is a relatively cheaply assembled team based on talent, team spirit and shared endeavour. Of course there are egos involved; it would be impoissible for it to be otherwise. But what has worked so well is the ability to work together.
The Trump approach and that of the libertarian right is the antithesis of this. That policy of self interest saps the spirit and destroys the collective will on which most things of value are built.

A few months ago Trump had spent about $300 per vote to become the leader, and Jeb Bush had spent $5000 per vote to get to last place.

Trump is used to spending his own or borrowed money so has spent well. His competitors are used to spending other people’s money without consequence, so couldn’t help but spend poorly.

I think Ritchie can, for once, be forgiven for believing a myth – because everyone’s claiming that at the moment. It’s not true, of course: Leicester’s team cost £57m by the most generous assessments, and that’s before the annual wage bill of ~£100m.
Leicester were still underdogs, of course, but in fact they only beat a handful of teams who spent significantly more than them, and most teams in the league spent less.

From Dickie’s point of view, I would guess yes. A risk to any collective is another collective being successful. The will of the public is celebrated when it supports leftist policies but, to those of the left, the will of the public is to be resisted when it supports policies that go against current leftist consensus.(eg securing the USA/Mexico border)
Trump has built ample support. He is not alone and he does not seem to be the bitter, racist, Cheeto skinned, billionaire egomaniac that some want the public to see Trump as.

Not interested in football, so I don’t know a damn thing about Leicester’s performance. But it’s rather obvious that the ‘collective will’ that binds any team is secondary to the self interest at play in making sure the team is fit to win matches. Much like private companies, really. This is not the communism he’s looking for.
